Ugh how annoying, I just got all excited about this - http://www.last.fm/event/404776 - until I realised it was goddam Manchester USA. Nightmare.

Pelican's Australasia album has just redefined heavy for me... Until now I'd only heard The Fire... You coming down for BSS? I finally got my act together and got the tickets!

Also, check out Wed's events page shoutbox for a recording of the night. Not as good quality as the AB set, but, y'know, it's ours...

I did, but I don't quite know what happened to it... Stoner-rock-metal sorta stuff. Quite good.

Oh, and the excellent AxemRangers introduced me to possibly the best band (well, guy) ever to fit the description '65DoS and Mono go to the circus together'. I'll send it to you. And you will listen.

Deerhoof as performed by same bears would be better, however. CHOO CHOO CHOO CHOO BEEP BEEP. RAHHHHH.

That has given me an idea laden with a fell, terrible majesty. Lemon Jelly as performed by enraged bears.

I think Space Walk says it best... 'Beautiful!' Listen to Isis to counteract the saccharine happy-vibes.

Well, it is VERY good... It's actually because my scrobbler is slightly defunct and doesn't record all the tracks I play. Evidently it likes Marnie Stern, though...

Oh, I don't... I'll probably buy it at the gig, though. It takes a while to get into, but is really quite lovely.

Isis are really very good (and members thereof comprise part of Red Sparowes), or Oceanic is at any rate. I haven't heard the new album, though it's not been as well received as previous efforts. We should still go see, though. Remind me to give you Oceanic and You, You're a History in Rust.

Oh, it was a playlist I made for someone. Also, how are we only 'very high' on compatibility? I'm pretty sure my tastes are more similar to yours than other people I'm 'super' matched with...

I think it's because the contributing artists are listed as Anthony Gonzalez and Nicholas Fromageau - that is, the people who comprise M83 - and Anthony comes alphabetically before Nicholas. I'm too lazy to re-tag. Coincidentally, Good Morning, Captain and Blueberry Boat were adjacent on my 'songs about the sea' playlist. I don't think the recipient thinks so much of Slint, though...

Glasgow Mega-Snake is practically the best thing anyone has ever done with a guitar.
