I heard last year's Bloc described as "a deeply soulful bludgeoning", which made me curious. My brother drew the picture a couple of years ago - I thought it might be appropriate because I probably look like that when listening to music haha. Let me know if you fancy a trek to Manchester to see Flying Lotus lol. He'll probably play other places as well though. Is there anything at ATP you are especially looking forward to? I listened to Deerhoof, bonkers!

Ha! No - but there was a boat involved, one of the 'arenas' was on an old cold-war boat, but it got overcrowded with the rest of it...long story. <sigh> Like your profile pic! Self-portrait?

I didn't, no. This is my first ATP and I'm quite excited! I got that beat...I went to Glasgow & Edinburgh for Ballboy gigs so don't let that stop you - plus the trek is part of the event itself, an adventure as you say! Tent nice and dry and put away till at least late May for No Direction Home and as for Bloc...well yes, I went for all of the three hours until we were kicked out. Still in the process of trying to get cash back so watch this space...!

Oh did you get a ticket for Bloc then? I heard it went bust... did you get your money back?

Yeah I was surprised and excited when I saw you are going to ATP, I really enjoyed the I'll Be Your Mirror thing. I don't suppose you went to that did you? Flying Lotus is playing The Warehouse Project up in Manchester, I was thinking of going but it's a bit of a trek. I stood next to him while watching Untold at Bestival two years ago, these girls were trying to chat him up haha. Did you put your tent out to dry after End of The Road? Mine was soaking!

I just listened to 'Another Night Out', reminds me of the old song 'Sunday Morning Coming Down', not sure why. Our compatibility is now "SUPER" lol

That HAWK album is nice, I didn't realise Mark Lanegan was in Queens of The Stone Age until I read the notes for that on Spotify.

They seem to be heading up a list of fine bands on your Top Artists lists, so I guess I should rectify that omission before too long!

nice collection right back at you. i was a bit ambivalent with the new manics on the initial spin (the lead single and associated b-sides had set the bar rather high). however, i am really warming up to it with repeated plays. no easy task following up an album like JFPL.

sounds good, i'm depressed that festival season is over! nevermind though i'm quite looking forward to the winter now, hope it snows like last year.

oh awsome, did you catch Hayman or Brakes? yeah it is a bit mad travellig up for one night but Hayman, Gordon and the Bobby McGees is just a great line up, too good to miss i think.

hey, weekend was pretty boring but went out wednesday to an indie disco that was good. What did you get up to? Yeah think i'm gonna come up for the sunday of the popfest, the lineup is too good to turn down!

No, not at all indulgent...perfectly said. I used to go to V when it first started but I'd never consider going now. I hope too that it doesn't ever become that. Had an amazing weekend and then was lucky enough to see Iron & Wine and the Low Anthem at Union Chapel on Tues night too, so it was the perfect end to the weekend :)

Your EotR review sums it up perfectly and makes me wish we didn't have a whole year until the next one :)

My Dad used to love Gentleman Jim and played him a lot when I was young. Back then I used to hate those songs - happily that one has now been redeemed for me.

Yes I was at Holmes Brothers and very good they were too. Surprising choice of songs to cover - Cheap Trick and Jim Reeves!

oh was amazing!!!! Everbody was in the french resistance...now were just epic then Saw Ballboy on the saturday, then Gordon played an acoustic set in the church on sunday, just amazing!!! Great discos going down too, even heard joy division oven gloves by half man half biscuit. Im depressed beyond tablets now though, dont think theres anything worse than coming home from indietracks :(

i've never heard UNKLE I should check them out. Yeah i've heard about end of the road, is it the one that Darren Hayman and the wave pictures played a secret gig with their bluegrass band? or did i make that up? oh Brakes are playing too i wish they were playing Indietracks! Not sure about gigs, Cardiff tends to close down in summer with all the students gone home although i think Ballboy are playing a few days after indietracks, hoping to go to a few more festivals, Green Man and maybe even end of the road. Its a shame the secret garden festival clashes with indietracks, really liked that one.

I saw Gordon at Indietracks last year, he played in the tiny church, he played a song called 'I am an indie pirate and i will skuttle ye!' think thats going to be on the new album? i nicked the title for my article on Indietracks last year, it was just incredible. Can't wait to see them with full band this year.

Oh no way, thats awesome! that'll go some way towards making up for missing Indietracks. I read somehwere that a new album will be out soon, did they play any new songs? I'm not jealous honest :'(
