Will watch the film this evening, and Dorau is not thaaaat known, he's quite a beloved cult figure and in the public known for his novelty hit Fred vom Jupiter. He is comparable to people like Jonathan Richman in his manchild persona.

So, I definitely only just saw your shout from December... yes, I've heard his Violin Sonata! But I think my favorite violin sonata is still Debussy's. Elgar is up there, however. I saw some Britten - I've been listening to his choral works a lot lately.

francis bacon is very tormenting as well, but i love it, that emotion his art gives me. same with edward hopper. both incorporate fear it seems, similar fears to. bacon the fear of despair nd hopper the fear of lonelliness

yes, bosch was so far ahead of his time. and telemann is a probably my favorite baroque composer, he made this masterpiece, tafelmusik, which is similar to bach's bradenburg concertos, he uses a lot of flute as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5r_hY3FSog

neither do i. it is interesting indeed. i had a moment when i was looking at a bosch painting and i finally realized how scary and absurd the painting is, it had an effect on me. because that pang of shock when i was first seeing wierd things like art and experimental music, you know recognizing how wierd it is, and not being passive although i have seen many absurd things. do you get what i am trying to say?

i really dig him, actually, especially all the work he does with oboe. and its just my personal opinion that ces gens la is his best, but i hear he has more. yeah the only thing that is derogatory about him, is that the state that Turkey was under in at the time of his rule was a one party rule, and he persecuted those who disagreed with him. ive really become interested in these two. check these out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Jung http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oneiric_(film_theory)

ive heard of that one but i cant find it anywhere. im going to listen to todesmelodian after this, which is the only other one i have. me too that french style is very lovely. and i knew youd like it, its such a powerful and consoling song. and yeah i know yves montand, hes also very good, i love his voice and germany overall as a whole has always been interesting down from the 1800's. great composers, great literature. im sure youve heard of faust? i plan on reading that soon. by kraftwerk i plan on listening to more, but ive only listened to autobahn

and that scene, the neue deustche welle seems pretty interesting i agree. i like how underground that culture seems compared to the german culture we're accustomed to know
