hadn't listened to them in a while. synth-metal with baroque influences just hits the spot. though i fear i cannot reckon my library as too awe-inspiring. been digging myself too deep in the k-diva rabbit hole lately

hell yeah! they were one of the first music acts that really got me going to discover more... was almost like a revelation stumbling across them again after a while (also do you perchance like jrock/jpop? a friend of mine's really into it so would love to hear what you think of it too)

oh, jpop's had me gagged for a good year & a half. even the mainstream stuff has a very distinctive sound that really drills in the feel you're listening to something different. it's also kinda mystifying. you can go from cutesy stuff that sounds happy and jolly but has lyrics so demoralizing it'd give gothic rock bands a run for their money. and the opposite end, where it's harrowing sounding stuff with silly dumb lyrics. then, of course, there's haru nemuri who does both in the span of half an album.

lmao yea was surprised to hear its actually the way it is... always thought it was *just* the dance-pop fun happy joyous vibe, but it kinda has a double meaning too if you really think about it (nobody will ever know what's "wrong" or that you're hurt, and even when they hear you saying it, it wont make much sense to them unless they really care) that generalising and misunderstanding i think also came from my own ignorance and lack of care for the genre, but if you're openminded, you can discover whole new worlds you never knew existed. ts makes you think fr

ah, appreciate it.ㅤ♡ྀི working on a new one with the same cat, but w/more elaborate background. as far as recs, i actually haven't listened to much kpop myself. just a few groups and soloists i have really liked over the years. though i see you like more downbeat stuff. there's "irreversible" by BoA, "paperheart" by KREAM, "blue" by kid milli, "clouds" by o3ohn [this one's too pretty], "deja vu" by CIFIKA, "broken water" by YESEO [though she now goes by silly silky]. all which i really enjoy. as for the stuff i've loved the most from the genre, there's "classic" by sungwoojunga. "honey, don't kill me vibe" by YESEO. "I" by tayeon [sounds very outdated by now, but it was the first kpop music video i watched]. "angel" by berrygood [goated stuff]. and ofc, currently obsessed w/ "luv me" by AOA. reckon i didn't dump too much in here 😅 hope you're able to find something you enjoy

not karma feat. ice spice. it's very clearly drawn from bodhidharma's treatment of the will as a grievous passion that must be overcome to progress in the cycles of samsara

here are my onion article ideas: 1. Fashion expert shares best style tips for a public execution. [will go something along the lines of: "Yellow is a no-go. I mean, red and yellow? who wants to look like a hot dog?" - "a fashion crime, which means to the chopping block you go" - *laughter* - "Red of course goes great. It blends in, there's a lot of subtlety. People really have a hard time telling apart the blood splatters from the fabric." - "Now, of course, white and red. A classic. Provides a nice rich contrast, and just overall, is a great way to make a statement. Shows that you aren't afraid to be front and center and get a little dirty." - "Now, earth tones. Especially if they're leaning into dingy, desaturated greens and browns, that's a nice way to make a post-apocalyptic statement. Especially if you have rough fabrics like denim, canvas. It all enhances that rugged, dystopian edge that really goes well with the times."

2. (note: This would've been great to post anywhere from 2009 to 2014/15. Now it's kinda meh.) Title: "Lady GaGa: I don't know what I'm wearing either. Please stop asking." ["You all know her. Pop superstar and fashion daredevil lady GaGa, in an exclusive interview with america's most trusted news source." - "She's been spotted at New York Fashion Week, sporting different hairstyles and making multiple wardrobe changes in a day. Sometimes even just to go to the bathroom." - "impressive. now tell me about some of these outfits."] ... - i had others, but they got lost in my previous phone. these are just the ones i remember
