Some of us have stayed in contact through a Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/158339490864430/) if you have a Facebook account and are interested. It's sad to think that the forum could just disappear someday and so many people would be left disconnected from the group, just like when Metacritic suddenly collapsed.

So, the new Mountain Goats album is pretty amazing. The last two songs in particular are completely flawless.

The last few months of music have been really strong. A couple of good ones are Huck Notari, Joose Keskitalo and Chriss Sutherland. I've been listening to a lot of world music too and that gives me a fresh taste of things.

I'm doing very well, Matt. Don't let the pressure of school get to you. As for me, I'm in the process of completing my graduate program (musicology). The year is what I expected, so far - the surprising part is the unknown releases that are coming fast and furious. Right now along with the other releases on my list, I'm also very impressed with Jim Tenor and kabu kabu, plus the new odawas record is so dreamy. Look into them and let me know if you can't find them. I always thought you were doing your studies in Sweden, but that could have been an exchange situation, right?

How good is that that DDW records? I am astonished by how much they have grown as a band- how have you been, matt?

I heard the news about a month straight From Redding Hunter. At his last show in Toronto, we had a drunken conversation (him doing the drinking,) and he also revealed that he might doing an album of beatles covers. Interesting! He might just be my hero.

The new Micah is simply great. One of the year's best albums. You should check out Brown Bird. You know where to find it.

The production leaves a lot to be desired. I've seen him perform before this release and his voice is captivating. BTW, that Jens Carelius is currently on heavy rotation.
