Well when you guys were getting all that rain, we were getting lots of snow here. It's not too bad now, just reallyyyy cold and because its so cold, the snow won't melt, so it's just kind of staying. No real big storms for the past month or more now :D

That sounds nice man! Mine was good too, was also chilling with my family and friends most of the time. Haha, so you're a coffee drinker? I still haven't learned to like coffee, and I'm not sure I ever will. I'll just stick to chocolate, lol.

Sorry about the super late reply, it feels like I haven't been on last.fm in ages ;o Yeah, I guess we will, in a way! Uhm, we had a course about scientific research - a lot of theory, which was unbelievably boring. The Parkway Drive/Your Demise/Comeback Kid gig (Never Say Die), on the other hand, was one of the best ones I've been to, so good! My third time seeing PWD, and they never disappoint me. But anwyay, how are you doing? Did you have a nice Christmas? :]

Oh nice, how was the show? About the same, don't really ask for much because I have everything I need and if I see something I just buy it myself. But I did get my Ugg boots that I wanted and chocolate and clothes.

Ah, yeah it sucks that no bands really go there. It was alright when all the good local bands were together and there was a show just about every weekend but then they started moving on or breaking up. Christmas is going good, came so fast, now it's just over. How's your Christmas? What did you get? :)

Not really, there's been shows but no one to go with, which sucks cause I hate dragging my sister to every single show I wanna go to. The most recent was Carrie Underwood Saturday night lol, my sister had an extra ticket, so I ended up going. And Lady Gaga in August haha. Any shows for you?

Well, it's a really bad place to work because the managers really don't care about any of their staff and stuff, it's just all about making sales and they just walk around doing nothing, telling everyone else what to do. Pay sucks and you only get a raise once a year, 30 cents at the most. My department isn't so bad, which is the only reason I'm still there. I can't really complain about the people I work with, so it's ehhh. And no we don't have a Dominion here, there's Safeway though, which is the same thing, I think.

Oh I know, it's so annoying trying to decide what to buy people. This year I'm pretty much getting everyone some sort of gift card then they can go buy themselves something, so much easier! :D and I work at laaaaame Wal-Mart. :(

hello! haha, going good, super sleepy from work and christmas shopping -.- no big Christmas plans this year, I work, but I got New Years off, so I guess I'll seee what happens then. You got any holiday plans?

Haha yeah, so it's been a long wait for sure. But soon it's time! Oh, that actually sounds interesting. So I guess you're focusing on technology? I study graphic design and web development, which is also pretty cool so far. I just wish we didn't have to deal with theory D:

Will do man! don't worry, haha :] but it's almost two months left, damn! So anyway, how's it going? What are you doing now that summer is over, do you study or work?
Actions

It sure is. But yeah, you're probably right, NSD will make up for a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing Parkway Drive (you know what they say - the third time's a charm) and Your Demise as they were good when I saw them last year. As for the bands I haven't seen before I'm excited for all of them, haha. I think it's the first time ever that I'll be attending a gig where every band in the line-up is either good or at least decent.

Word man, it's an amazing record! I couldn't resist buying it so right now I'm waiting for it to crash-land in my mailbox. Anyway, things are good, thanks! I'm enjoying this summer the best I can. What about you? Well, right now I'm not sure how many of them I'll be attending. School ruins the Carpathian/Ruiner gig for me, and I didn't go to see Converge (not that I'm sad about that though). But I'm really looking forward to the NSD! tour this fall. It will literally kick ass.

Yeah, it sure does :]. Oh, well maybe you did, haha. I've seen them once and they were pretty good, but to be honest I wouldn't really have gone to that gig if Four Year Strong hadn't played before Alexis. I know the feeling though, I hate when they charge too much for gigs, especially when you really want to go :P. haha.

haha well, to be honest I don't think I can afford it right now, so I have to save up some money before I will be able to go :] plus, I'm probably going to Tunisia or some other country when it gets colder here, which I also need money for. Anyway, been to any good gigs lately?

So maybe I should move over there so I can find one without having to go to a thousand job interviews, haha :D. I want to go to Gothenburg (for the Ruiner/Carpathian gig which I am stoked for, yes). But also to Germany and at the same time to visit some friends in Poland, cause their city is only like two hours from Berlin. This trip might have to wait until fall though, I'm not sure yet.

Sounds great man. Is it easy to find work where you live? Well, same here, life's pretty good. I won't be working this summer though, I'll probably just chill out most of the time. A few gigs, a little bit of travelling and that's about it.

That's good to hear. Haha, there are a few I guess, but mostly bands that aren't famous. There are a some well-known and great hardcore bands, but not so many metalcore bands. I guess the melodic death metal bands are the ones that people from other countries know about :P

I wish I knew. Not having a license and living about 30 minutes outside Edmonton kind of sucks because I never have a ride there. I hear there is a pretty decent scene downtown though so whenever I finally get my license I'm gonna check it out.

Haha yeah, it kind of sucks but that was like 4 years ago now, so most people probably forgotten all about that place by now.

I'm not sure actually. I heard it was because it was a church hall and there was always 'drugs' around and other complaints. But I'm not sure how true that is.

Ohh really? The only place I've been to on George St. was Distortion, that's alright place it's just not very big. St. Andrew's hall was always really fun for shows, too bad shows are pretty much banned frmo that place. :\

That was an amazing show. It never had a very good turn out though for the guy pulling it off, he lost a lottt of money after that show because there wasn't that many people there. It was kind of sad.

Call the Ambulance were so good. It was the same line up pretty much EVERY single weekend, I never missed a show in 2006, it was crazy. We've probably been at the same shows and not even know it haha :p

Yeah, I never really got a chance to check out the newer bands. The Fall From Here were so good. I miss the shows where it'd be like Children of Eve, Call the Ambulance, The Fall From Here, Flatline/Melaena, Without Judgement all the time, but I guess they all move on.

I never got to see Over The Top play when I was there between work and school :( Ever since Children of Eve left it seemed like there's hardly been any shows and all the good bands kinda broke up.

You should totally go to Warped Tour sometime, it's really awesome and much better than a regular concert because all the bands just walk around like normal people and are super nice. It's so laid back. Yeah, I agree about the local bands in St. John's. Do you go to shows a lot?
Actions
-

I'm pretty good too :) just super tired. Thanks, you have a really awesome taste in music too... nope I don't live in Newfoundland anymore, I moved to Alberta to live with my dad as soon as I graduated, the majority of the bands I've seen live were from Warped Tour over the last couple of years though, so that's probably why it seems like a lot

Oh, that's awesome! the local scene here is really nothing to write home about. I guess we have some good bands in different metal and hardcore genres but compared to the UK and US... then no :P. sorry about the late reply btw, I haven't been on here in a while.

that's great! it's a bit of a shame that not too many bands come though, but it's the same over here. I like where I live, but it wouldn't hurt to have more bands playing my area. and more often too, haha.
