I grumbled my face off when I saw the announcement for that show. I did see Xiu Xiu in a little club in Seoul on my 27th birthday, though. So I guess I should've only grumbled 50-60% of my face off. Then again, it's Michael Gira we're talking about here. Let's go with 65-70%. Yep.

Last.FM just told me I should take you to the DFA1979 show here in Halifax in November. Somehow I don't think that's a trip you'll be taking. How are things? BTW, I listen to Tindersticks all the time now. I don't think I was ready for them at 23....

Naw, I haven't been getting out to shows as much as I should unfortunately. I did, however, help the drummer from the Dandy Warhols - Brent DeBoer - with his print-job (yes, here in Melbourne)...totally didn't compute who it was until a few weeks later. Pretty funny stuff. He's in a band called Immigrant Union apparently -- sort of a hippie/folk band project. Right up there with our post-show encounter with the lead singer of the Black Heart Procession...I remember him doing a Danzig impersonation and that's about it :P How 'bout you, any celebrity encounters lately?

Yeah, "up over" sounds about right but it also sounds like a way to cook an egg...maybe you guys are sunny-side-up?! But yeah, things are going pretty good down here, Hitomi and I just got our de-facto partner visa so that's the big news from down here!

Aw man! I always find bands I like when it's already too late! My audioscrobbler plug-in kept track of what I was listening to since I cut my connection back in August and dumped about 5000 songs on my tracks played stats. It was pretty exciting.
