yeah those last AM reissues were outstanding. best presentation on any urashima releases to date imo. really excited for collection in formaldeide. haven't listened to much slogun either but what i've heard has been pretty good. but yeah idunno minimal techno seems like a vast genre worth exploring, though i have no clue where to start.

likewise, that one is my favourite. second track in particular. i'm relatively new to the whole "minimal techno" thing. got any recommendations? VS, sandwell district, british murder boys etc have all been on heavy rotation lately.

A+ thesis material right there! but hmm, yes, the unsettling sounds of SHP seem more like they would've originated in a decrepit hospital in pripyat ukraine than a state known for it's country music and rodeos. but i highly recommend travelling there if you ever get the chance. wish i could go back for chaos in tejas in may but that's not happening unless i catch a leprechaun or rob a train.

idunno man texas is pretty depraved from what i've seen. first, it's right on the border, so lots of prejudice surrounding illegal immigrants. lots of dumb republican ideology at odds with reality. & the national klan office was located in dallas TX. second, they have the highest amount of gun murders second only to california. the sheer amount of emphasis on gun culture is staggering there. third, [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Albright]the eyeball killer[/url]. all of this + the constant heat + the history of violence, from cowboys and indians to the alamo = perfect breeding ground for aggressive behaviour. but that's just my perception from staying in texas last week

hell yes. normally i'm hesitant to shell out money for digital only releases but i didn't even think twice on this one. stoked on the new binding of isaac hoodie & cd release of quietly too. & if the unnatural world is anything like the cropsey demo it's going to be another masterpiece. everything dan does is of the utmost quality so my expectations are huge. also, really looking forward to that tape you're working on this year. would love to stock some copies in the male activity store if that's cool with you.

Well, it was hailed on Metal Archives as being a "modern classic" and the description was incredibly interesting (based upon reviews and feedback from the thread discussing "modern classics") that I had to check it out. It really did not disappoint, and I was incredibly surprised at how much I enjoyed it... blackened tech-prog-thrash isn't exactly the most endearing term to most people though :P

It's basically the purest epic metal I've heard in forever - it beats the piss out of Ironsword, Ereb Altor and Isen Torr, and all those bands excel at what they do! Goddammit, this album RULES! Go check this out, now! No excuses!

Yeah, ever since you put on that track "A Seed for Suffering" I've wanted that album. Turns out it had been sitting at War on Music for months in the used section - so I bought it! It's definitely a unique album, really great sound. Lots of Darkthrone worship happening, but they definitely go beyond that in a lot of ways with all that psychedelic stuff happening. Great goddamn band.
