Because playing video games only for fun is a very outdated concept...it is acceptable yes, but is like reading harry potters books or lord of the ring books..sure, nice and fun, but they don't teach you shit and you can't get something out of it at all, experience, values, concepts, creativity, knowledge, you name it...no, having fun is not bad or something, now ONLY having fun, now that is more like a punishment because you are punishing yourself from enjoy a lot of other greater and better things... a shame for your friends. I enjoy some of the korean pop because it is usually a quite high product category; catchy lyrics, pretty girls, some nice choreography every now and then...it is a product that hold a very decent degree of quality on their productions and it shows, now why i like it, i like it because it is a very carefree genre that allows a large degree of enjoyment with barely any need of knowledge, you can literally take a song and already hook someone with it (so many people fell in this thanks to gee alone for example) and there's the fact that its a industry that is growing and proving itself every day; concerts, performances, live singing, TV shows, dramas, CFs... there's a whole "world" of korean music to enjoy that others industries music-related just don't have, of course we are talking about a market that is currently on one of its best times, i don't know how it will endure the incoming years...but once it goes down, it will be time to get into another time killer like it.
