Any link/site where I can check out the actual print on the shirt? I Hate is familiar. The Wounded Kings, Fall of the Idols, Memory Driven...lots of great releases. I'll bookmark that Discogs link. That reminds me, any update on that final Fall of the Idols album? On a different note, came across this Fvneral Fvkk EP a few days back on the Solitude Productions YouTube channel. Really hilarious name for a doom band but the sound is top-notch. And they really nail that solemn, hymnal Gregorian chant-like multi-layered vocals which I really dig you know as a huge AiC fan. Any recommendation based on that vocal style?

Speaking of goats, where can I find a Harbinger of Metal or In the Rectory shirt? Seems to be out of stock on Hells Headbangers and pretty much everywhere else I've searched so far. Also, do you know any good trad doom, stoner etc. focused web store/online distro with reasonable international shipping charges like the Earache mail order?

By the way have you listened to the new The Obsessed record? I remember coming across a song premiere on Relapse YouTube channel and it was kinda underwhelming at first listen. Also I'm a bit hesitant to check out the new Electric Wizard.

Pallbearer never claimed to be a 'doom' band. It's the doing of Pitchfork and such crap media. Even if you watch some of their earlier interviews from SaE period they used to describe their sound as heavy prog band with doom elements. Joseph in particular tends to avoid pigeonholing. According to him they are as much influenced by doom metal as they are by 70's prog and hard rock and 90's rock to some extent. I don't know I like The All-consuming as much as SoRL or maybe a bit more at times. I think they expanded upon the things that made them memorable and distinctive like the intricate layerings, tasteful leads and overall solid songwriting. And Niklas' voice is a hit and miss. I personally like his vocals. It suits the sound. Maybe they are playing it like Pallbearer. Not sticking to the golden rulebook of doom and such. But then again they claim to be a doom band after all unlike Pallbearer. So, I guess it's not really a good idea to stray too far from the obvious cliche.

How did you like The All-consuming? They seem to get better with each release as well but unlike Pallbearer, Khemmis and those US bands they don't seem to get much attention. Although the lineup is now expanded as they have performed live quite a bit lately.

Ah, good to know that you noticed my extended absence. But this time it was for totally different reason. Due to health issues. It kinda deteriorated over a couple of years. Underwent a surgery back in August. Now I'm feeling fine. Better than ever in fact. Wut! Pallbearer made your year-end list!? That's surprising. I have yet to listen to Heartless though. But people are saying that it's more prog than doom. Some people are saying that they sound kinda like a emotional version of Mastodon now. They kinda had this 70's program influence all along but SaE and FoB were mostly melodic doom with prog/alternative influences. I'm totally fine with prog though. I've always been a fan of well-crafted prog rock/metal.

I guess I'll give it a try. :-|Anyway, I was kind of Into the Void for over a year or so. Detached from existence and reality. I guess you could say I'm Born Again. ;-)

Seems like my brain isn't functioning properly nowadays. Silly me. How could doomsday be celebrated! Anyway, forgive and forget my third rate jokes. So, I guess I've lots to catch up on. Especially that final Pagan Altar album.

FB's probably easier from my point of view. I heard some Gold a while ago and thought it sounded decent. Something else i should check out. ha ha I've always liked Ramones. Weirdly enough I like their 80's stuff better than the earlier stuff. I'm actually abstaining buying anything for a month until the end of January. Need to get finances back under control.

Can't say i agree. Any further in that direction and I'd drop it. Bit too much towards light weight happy California "punk" to my ears. But whatever. It's genuine, just not something I'm a big fan of. I was thinking of following up the moon/doom thing with death/breath...... :P

I like it but it hasn't quite clicked with me to that level. I think it's definitely another of those releases that I haven't listened to enough. I'll give it a listen today. Definitely looking forward to what they come up with though. Weird Tales seems a little throwaway and a bit too happy for my liking. It has it's moments. It feels like the leftover songs that didn't make the cut. Which is probably what it is by the way. I do like it just not as much as their other releases. ha ha I've been thinking of writing a similar lyric about getting older and time speeding up although I doubt i am capable of writing anything near as good as what you could come up with.

I'm enjoying Altar Sermon but at the moment think it's a touch behind the previous release. I'll qualify that statement by saying that I haven't listened to it enough to make a proper judgement. It's still a high quality release of course and probably would be somewhere in my best for the year. I'd love an album too. It'd be interesting to hear a mix of their types of songs on a single release rather than the very single minded EP's.

Didn't get enough new music this year really. Heard a number of newish things that i enjoyed but wasn't really blown away by. Spent too much money on re-issues etc from the old bands this year. Hopefully I can manage to concentrate on hearing a lot more new stuff this year. Arkham Witch and Magister Templi could creep into my favourites. Oh yeah i forgot the Manilla Road. I love The Blessed Curse.

It's not printed yet so it will be fixed. Off the top of my head Satan, Mangog, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pentagram, WASP. I know I'm old......

Love the Gatekeeper Eternal Champion split. I think it's Gatekeepers best work so far and Eternal Champion are even better. Really looking forward to that. I have ordered the Arkham Witch on cd and it's on its way so i haven't heard it yet. I'm sure I'll like it. Not surprised at the direction taken. Seems logical to me.

And you're right - Zodiac's song "Legacy" is easily the best one on that tape.

Thought I'd replied to you again. Obviously not. I'm a bit scattered most days! On your rec I had a listen to Zodiac - they're not bad. The vocalist reminds me a bit of the guy from Magister Templi. Doesn't look like Eldritch Rites or Dire Fate will get anything out before the end of the year, unfortunately.

Yeah that is the correct track listing. Thanks for ordering by the way. I'll change the song order on Dungeon Demos II so that Fuck You is the last track. It'll probably be Mother Superior, The Summoning, Unknown Unnamed and Fuck You.

Nya Iron Maiden är faktiskt helt ok även om något lång. Vad anser en get? Förresten, är du intresserad av Stone Command? Jag funderar på att beställa från ärans och hjältarnas land.

Can't even begin to describe how hideous this re-design is. I totally support the outcry and will probably remove my account as well if they don't implement a revert button. Tomahawk is working on their own website called Hatchet. Presumably it will have a feature to export all the data from last.fm.

Aye, I'd be happier if they utilize more clean vocals and their melodic trad doom ethos next time around. I'll get back to you regarding the band you told me to check out. Meanwhile, check this out. Pretty neat stuff imo.
