Fair enough :P And yeah, Spotify does have a vast selection, though there has been some complaints about it over the small amount they apparently pay in royalties to the artists. If I recall, it was Beck that specifically said they don't pay him enough to pay everyone involved with the albums their fair share and what not. That aside though, it's great for finding and discovering stuff, though I get a bit annoyed with their occasional habit to not tag stuff right, especially stuff like Sigur Rós or Electric Würms. :P

I know of the band, though have yet to try their stuff, though that's good to hear you enjoyed their live show so much! It's great when a band work together so well. A local band called Frankie & The Heartstrings have quite a good chemistry between them all when playing live, which extends into their whole slant as more of entertainers, since as well as playing the music, they love talking and joking with the crowd. ^^

I've seen a festival stream a performance of theirs on stage and it was pretty good! A more rock sound comes through alongside their main chiptune melodies when they play live is probably the best way to describe it! And awesome! Here's hoping you get one of the signed copies! ^^

It's funny, you mention Porter Robinson's Sad Machine, and within a day of doing so, my twitter and stuff lights up with links to Anamanaguchi's remix of Sad Machine :P

There's some dance stuff on there, but overall the album is more chilled and atmospheric, mostly consisting of piano pieces, some guitar stuff and compositions for electronics clearly not meant to be dance music. I think it's quite a good album. And oh? That sounds pretty interesting. ^^

Hey, have you heard Deadmau5' new album While(1<2) yet? Giving it a listen now, it's pretty nice and interesting so far, an album where Joel's largely abandoned making anything chart friendly and seems more like the stuff he wants to make.

Ohhhh, completely unrelated, but some free mixtapes recently released you might be interested in DaVinci & Sweet Valley's Ghetto Cuisine and Eyedress' Hearing Colors. Ghetto Cuisine is essentially DaVinci rapping over original beats by Sweet Valley, personally I'm not that fond of DaVinci's rapping but Sweet Valley's production is as good as ever so you might like to check it out. Eyedress is the solo project of the lead guitarist of Bee Eyes, best way I can describe it is the lo-fi trippy synthpop like what Neon Indian makes, mixed with witch house, with some 8-bit stuff here and there for good measure.

Yeah, while I like some of her stuff (though not ARTPOP, thought that was very meh) I wouldn't be in a massive rush to see her, though Hatsune Miku is an interesting choice. :P I know he's not that fond of the university he's been studying at, but seems to like Japan itself, though he does admit that being there for as long as he has the novelty does wear off :P Though he has been updating facebook and what not with plenty photos. If we get the chance we would like to visit for like a week or so together. ^^

And cool to hear about you getting into record collecting! I'd collect LPs if I had something to play them on, so I get CDs instead. :P

I have to retake a class because there was work I needed to redo in my previous year that they didn't inform anyone about, didn't even become aware of it until December, was meant to be graduating this June! Music-wise I've been all over the place lately, kinda wanting a bit of everything. :P

Just letting you know unless you've already heard and tried it etc, a bit ago The Bloody Beetroots' second album HIDE leaked onto the web, I think you'd quite like it, more a of a big 'stadium' kinda sound, but still sounding very much like them, interestingly with a lil bit of brostep and such in it :P

I still think it's a nice album and all for what it is, but yeah I'm preferring their first one. I'd mostly criticise it for, to me, a bunch of the songs sounded quite similar saddly. And alrighty, hope you enjoy your time there! My bf's spending an academic year in Japan himself come early September. :P

Oh, and Empire of the Sun's Ice on the Dune is some nice dance pop, though I don't quite feel it as much as their more quirky debut.

Glad you like, they're a production duo of Nate Williams and his brother, different to Nate's usual work in Wavves (which is more noise pop and surf punk), and I know right? When I first read the collab I just thought "wait, what?" but I rather like it, granted in terms of style it's not as unusual as their Church of Noise single with Refused's vocalist Dennis Lyxzen (though I really like it personally). And I can't say I have, sorry if you've recommended them because in that case I've completely forgotten about them. There's a bunch of stuff I need to try still, like Thundercat's debut and Mayer Hawthorne's new album. :P

Yeah, I like on his debut that we saw some more of the stuff that he'd put out previously, but that it wasn't completely that. Funny enough, I saw today a poster for a Com Truise performance sometime during the month nearby. And CHVRCHES are another where I've heard the name but haven't gotten around to trying their stuff.

Ah yeah, was meaning to mention oOoOO's debut Without Your Love coming out, NME magazine gave it a mild review, but honestly I think it was just want I wanted to hear from him: Everything still in that distinct sound he's developed, with a continuation of the sorts of stuff on his previous EPs, whilst also showing some more range from him with several much more ambient and outright experimental sounding, and one track showing he can do heavier sounds too. I really like it. Com Truise is one I know of but never got around to trying, although ActRazer is a new one to me. ^^

I have to admit I've tried odd things from Kanye here and there, but up until now the only thing I ever really liked was stronger, so I'm surprised at liking Yeezus. Black Skinhead may be one of my fav individual tracks of the year. :P Maybe I'll get around to trying Archetype in time then :o

Having not really liked any of his previous work other than Stronger, I'm really surprised that I'm enjoying Kanye's new album Yeezus. :P And Rchetype looks interesting, but considering my interests elsewhere, perhaps there's a mild bias in that. :P

You should definitely give his stuff a try when your mood suits it I think ^^ And Animal Collective (though their stuff is more all over the place xD)... of course I'm the kind of person that reckons you should give anything and everything a try if you really to do it :P

Same here, it's just so nice for what it is, I don't really care that it's a less club focused album that prior works, it's still highly enjoyable. As for Panda Bear, his exact sound changes from release to release I find, though the album Tomboy is probably the closest sounding to Doin It Right. And not to forget he's the drummer and occasional vocalist for the psychedelic/experimental group Animal Collective ^^

Oh yeah, there's just so much goodness on it. Doin' It Right sounds like something from Panda Bear's album Tomboy, though that's a good thing, since I think Tomboy is an awesome album. :P I could go on and on about every little thing I liked really. xD

I think it might be my fav overall album so far. It's a much softer and gentle record compared to previous stuff, but I really don't mind, I really really enjoy it, and Touch might be my fav track by them so far. I'd perhaps describe it as like a mix of Breakbots By Your Side with Squarepusher's Shobaleader One, with gracious sprinklings of Empire of the Sun's Romance To Me on top. You should give it a go!

Nice :3 Found a stream of Justice's new live album Access All Arenas today too, it's rather fun to hear the mixing of the more electronic sounding Cross with the more rock sounding Audio, Video, Disco... works rather well I think. Although, then again, unlike a seemingly sizable portion of their fans, I rather enjoyed AVD's change in sound. :P

Here's hoping for a genuine RAM leak to pop up at sometime, the possibility is a little wider now that it's been given ot various journalists to preview, although apparently there were some serious legal loopholes to jump through before they could, I even came across the comment that one journalist described it as having to fill out more paperwork than he did for his mortgage. xD Although going of NME's description, it sounds like there's quite a mixture of sounds on it. :D

If you've not heard it yet and don't have any qualms with downloading a leak, then I just thought you'd like to know that Baths' new album Obsidian has leaked. Gonna try it in a bit myself.

Well Panda Bear has at least 4 solo albums out (the most recent being Tomboy) and he's also a member of Animal Collective, he primarily does drumming but also does vocals on various songs, probably hear his more clear demonstrations on most of their Merriweather Post Pavilion album or the song New Town Burnout from their newest album Centipede Hz. I believe he also did some guest vocals on Teengirl Fantasy's newest album (which I haven't listened to yet :P). Just his and Julians usual styles I have a heard time imagining them in a Daft Punk track, so I'm quite interested in hearing their contributions. And yeah, I heard, I haven't been that big on Deftones, but I was hoping he'd come out of it eventually.

Nice, I'd probably collect vinyl myself if I had something to play it on, I generally don't like the idea of it just sitting there. And I've been enjoying a bit of Kashiwa Daisuke stuff myself lately, some really nice compositions.

I quite liked Breakbot's too, though I've been generally liking his stuff since he sigend to Ed Banger. And yeah, Daft Punk's new one, from the tiny clips they seemed to have offered from it so far sounds very Discovery era (not a bad thing), though I wouldn't be surprised if the thing in full ended up being all over the place in terms of overall sound (again not a bad thing I think, I do enjoy variety :P). OVERWERK sounds interesting, maybe give him a try at some point.

Oh, and going off Anamanaguchi, they have a new album out called Endless Fantasy, though not sure when it's due out. The new single Meow from it is pretty neat though. I'd also suggest the project Knife City (not Knife Party! :P), a side thing one of their members has going, his self-titled ep is electro and dubstep made using bleeps and bloops, it's kinda awesome.

Well Ed Banger have had several EPs out since, most of which I can't remember, but after Total, they have had Breakbot's debut By Your Side, and Krazy Baldhead's second album The Noise In The Sky out since. And I don't think I've really given progressive house a try but it sounds interesting. And yeah, I just like the slow, bassy and trippy jams of stoner metal and stoner doom I find, though I like trippy sounding stuff in general, so that's probably why! Oh, and since it's on itunes for pre-order, I'm guessing Daft Punk's next album is official, released May 20th/21st, depending on exactly where you are, called Random Access Memories. Has a neat cover too. Still doesn't say what any of the tracks are called though.

Kavinsky's not on Ed Banger strangely, despite the fact he's close friends with a lot of people on there xD Although in all fairness, Ed Banger put out a few things last year, though not as much as 2011 :P And yeah, the Lips one is interesting, but not the easiest to get into, there's no song on there that's single material, but I quite enjoy the album as a whole :P Don't think I've listened to Milo before :o And while not new releases, I've been finding myself getting into a few more stoner metal bands beyond Electric Wizard, particularly one of the older bands in the subgenre Sleep. :P
