i love location. i saw freelance whales at sxsw as well, and they were great..lots of fun. as for good shows in my future..i'll be out of the country for a number of austin's good shows this summer, but i WILL be seeing midlake in a few weeks. beyond that, i'm highly anticipating austin's big music fest in october. i'm jealous that beirut is on your schedule. um, jonsi did NOT come anywhere in my state - i flew from texas to NYC see him, so i'm gonna have to say your excuse is not valid. :)

So..the album leaf. Been wanting to see them/him for years, and unfortunately it had to fall only 4 days after I saw Jonsi in his solo tour. Anything would look somewhat weak after Jonsi. But TAL was really good. I saw Frightened Rabbit at SXSW, but there were sound issues, and I basically didn't get to hear them at all. Sad times. Do let me know how it is. Who is opening for them?

I don't know if you've heard of The Format (who are no longer together), but their lead singer is getting together with one of the guys from Anathallo and one from Steel Train and making a band called Fun, which should be pretty cool...they're coming here to Utah on May 13th. I'm pretty stoked.

"Back in the day" it wasn't so convenient for me. I subscribe to Napster and Rhapsody so a lot of the music I play is streamed from those services. Until recently, I didn't have a a way to scrobble that music. Since I didn't use iTunes and I had graduated from Winamp it wasn't always convenient to have my songs scrobbled. Even when I did install it on my player of choice, it still didn't get all my Rhapsody and Napster listening, which is how I play a majority of my music on the computer when there's Internet around. But now, thanks to some creative coders, I have the ability to scrobble all my music from my computer (I just found a decent scrobbler for Rhapsody today). It makes me happy.

I don't think I ever realized you were a New Pornographers fan. As soon as you get the chance, listen to their album from last year, Challengers. It was easily one of my favorite albums of 2007.
