I finally got around to listening to Regina Spektor, and holy crap! Her voice is amazingly enchanting. Like Joanna Newsom minus the creepy, plus some sassy Peaches and a sprinkling of sweet Isobel Campbell. Awesome. Thanks for the recommendation on her!
