Laugh if you must, but I have been working on a idea for a TV series about an extraterrestrial engineer (before you ask what kind of engineer, he's most kinds). His species is different to humans in many ways, but that doesn't mean they are inhuman, in fact they are quite kindly. They live for 1000+ years, and have excellent observation skills. Upon landing on Earth, it doesn't take him long to begin learning bits and pieces of the language of the country he landed in through observation.

A couple nights ago I dreamed that they banned CDs from being sold with plastic cases. Instead, CDs began being sold placed on top of sandwiches, with the sandwich placed on top of a ceramic plate. Meanwhile, last night I dreamed that the elder daughter on Family Ties bought a rifle and was learning how to use it, and later in the dream I was at my late paternal grandmother's house, which had a whimsical rhyming amusement park ride inside.

Last night I dreamed there was a bunch of tiny, gay people dancing upside down on my ceiling, with one of these tiny gay people being a 18th century soldier. Later my mother was appearing on a strange version of The Price is Right, in which contestants who spun the wheel too hard lost the game, but my mother never got to spin the wheel because the first two contestants broke it. Also in the dream I went to a very cold area (maybe Alaska or northern Canada?), in which my job was to deliver a bunch of recently restored 1920s early sound films.

Please forgive me for deleting my reply several times (I have a lot of trouble expressing things in written form), unfortunately the short answer is that I am unable to travel to the city at the moment, and there are a bunch of reasons for this. It's a shame, there's a number of concerts and other events I've been wanting to go to, but circumstances beyond my control stops me from going to them.

I really need to re-watch Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, it's been quite a while. I'm not planning to re-watch GT as it stinks.

I was planning to stop the dream posts, but last night's was a real doozy: I dreamed that a Kaiser, a 1950s Hollywood actress, and two other people were doing a low-budget TV game show, which I was trying to record with a woodgrain answering machine using tiny audio cassettes.

Last night I dreamed I was trying to photograph a mid-century building, but people kept getting in the way. Later I was in a really snooty yet rundown home entertainment shop, and I bought a second hand compilation featuring VHS and audio tapes of Lucille Ball's guest appearances on other people's shows, with the previous owner leaving in several old rolls of exposed film in the packaging. My dad also bought me a bunch of second hand film cameras. Later there was a high school, and somebody stripped the parts off one of the cars there, which Zack Morris said was not his fault. Also at the school there was a leaky battery.

My predictions for 2025: at least two major streaming services will merge with each other; Disney will shut down more cable channels; Whoopie Goldberg will continue to be an idiot; a large cable-stayed bridge will collapse; more exciting exoplanets will be found; one of Australia's major free-to-air TV networks will shut down; Nintendo will release the Switch successor, with the online app adding games from GameCube and maybe Sega Master System; the 1994 Donkey Kong game for the Game Boy will be made available on Nintendo Switch Online; there will be hypodermics on the shore; China will be under martial law; Coca-Cola and/or Pepsi will do something really stupid, which they will then undo, and somehow end up with higher sales than before (both companies have a way of benefitting from their mistakes).

I almost can't imagine a new system after the Switch could exist even though making new consoles is what Nintendo does best. With that said I wouldn't be surprised if whatever console came after the Switch ends up being an experimental thing that ends up being a flop. Like for example the Wii to the Wii U transition was pretty rough. Idk where I'm trying to go with this except the fact that I think the Switch is sort of a perfect console that still has a lot of potential in our lord's year 2025

Laugh if you must, but my favourite book is probably 'The Forgotten Network', which is a non-fiction book about an early, semi-experimental U.S. TV network which operated from 1946 to 1956, and pioneered many programming concepts we take for granted today.

I've forgotten most of last night's dream, but I do recall that in one segment I was in a second hand shop, and there was an Atari 400 home computer I really wanted, but someone else bought it instead. Later, I wanted to record the weather channel, but I was having trouble finding a blank tape. I then came across a bootleg copy of a prerecorded tape featuring a cheap animated straight-to-video film, which had a really creepy closing logo at the end. Later, I was sleeping in a room for rent, which was located inside of some kind of store. I was then playing with some mobile games released by Sega during the early 2000s on a tiny little device. Then later there was a city on an extraterrestrial planet, and in that city there were some modernist buildings that were being demolished, some of them by implosion.

I remember little of last night's dream, but I do remember that at one point the LGR guy from YouTube really hated an anti-tobacco game from the 1990s. He then took an old laptop to some traffic lights, but there was wi-fi at the traffic lights and the laptop got filled with viruses. Later there was silent film star Buster Keaton, appearing in a strange film in which he sang and danced, and later I got into a car accompanied by two ducks and a kitten.

I had a strange dream a few nights ago that stands out in my mind for some reason: it was set in the 1960s, and in the dream Gippsland, Australia television station GLV was increasing its broadcast signal so it could be viewed in Melbourne, and at the same time launched a strange game show which involved collapsing chairs, and was running ads in various magazines and newspapers promoting the show. (in real life, GLV did air some original programming in the 1960s, including history series Path of Time and children's series Gippsland Teleclub, though I'm never aware of them ever producing any game shows). I've been reading a lot 1960s TV schedules lately, including those from Gippsland, which is probably why I had the dream.

Last night I dreamed there was this Japanese pop group who had a big international hit, however they got trapped in a manmade cave surrounded by sharks, and then they were trapped in an aeroplane.

Last night I dreamed I had a boyfriend, who was a handsome Jewish heavy metal guitarist with a fondness for guns. We were at a arcade/carnival shooting gallery and won a bunch of chocolate. We later got caught in the rain and somehow found ourselves separated while walking home, so I walked around the neighbourhood trying to find him.

Last night's dream was truly bizarre. I don't recall much of it, but I recall there was a shopping centre which had AI powered computers there to allow people to search for things, which showed that the shopping centre was being used for piracy. The shopping centre also had a vintage McDonald's which hadn't changed since the 1980s, but then the shopping centre was demolished with a really big wrecking ball. Later one of my sisters acquired a Sony PS1 racing game, and us and our parents were planning to move into a bigger house, but while waiting for the house to be built we lived in a train station. Bart Simpson was also at the train station, and later he broke some things at Kmart, and then there was a superhero, who may or may not have been Bart Simpson, who got his power from eating junk food along with canned diced tomatoes. The villain he was fighting against was then decapitated by a prince, in order to save the superhero.

Spamming my own shoutbox, I know I shouldn't, but I want to note that I did something today I haven't done for a while, which is to spend the day listening to tracks from every decade of commercially released music recordings, from the 1890s to 2020s (I also listened to a 1889 track). I don't like spending too much time at the computer though, so I also went to a local park to take photos with two old cameras, the 1990s era Hanimex VC3200 and the 1970s era Agfa Agfamatic 2008, the latter being a very small 110 camera with a push-pull film advance (like those cameras in old spy films).

Last night I dreamed that a Robert Altman style film director decided that scrapping cars was offensive and could no longer be done. In another part of the dream the film director got in trouble for releasing products for the Nintendo 64 that featured the Nintendo Seal of Quality, even though Nintendo hadn't actually approved them. One of these products was a terrible digital camera that plugged into the Nintendo 64 cartridge slot, and later some guys from Texas did a YouTube video in which they destroyed the camera by smashing it in a parking lot.

Today I've had a craving to use a film camera to photograph a scenic street called Old Coach Road in Mount Dandenong (lots of tree ferns and such next to it), but I couldn't go because I didn't sleep well the previous night, my ankles are sore, and in any case the weather today was very dull and overcast. Hopefully there will be some better days coming up. I'm not sure which camera I will use. I'm tempted to use the Spartus 35F Model 400 (made in Chicago from 1947 to the early 1950s), but it's very fragile and I'm worried I'll drop it. Another camera I'd like to use is the Capital Deluxe 110 Camera, which despite its name isn't deluxe at all, in fact it's delightfully crappy. I'd also love to use the Keystone Everflash 3570, a basic but decent 1980s 35mm camera which was among the last to be made in the United States. I'm also tempted to use the Minolta Pocket Autopak 470, a well-featured Japanese camera for the 110 film format.

I ended up taking the photos today, using the Suntone MM252, a very cheesy 1990s camera that was given away as part of various promotional offers, and using Kodak Ultramax 400 film. However, I am worried the film didn't advance properly. Suntone was a strange brand, along with cameras it was also used for things such as tacky radio sets in the shape of a miniature boombox.

I've forgotten most of last night's dream, but I do recall one segment: my dad needed help in the front yard, so he bought a robot from Ryobi (yes, the power tools company), which in turn lead to all the other Ryobi robots in the neighbourhood coming over to visit.

I had another strange dream last night, in which my father found a 2000s-era device in storage, which was a Foxtel satellite TV remote control with a built-in display, which also functioned as a satellite radio and had a simple built-in brick game. I then asked my dad to write an emulator of the remote control, which he did, though it was only a partially functioning emulator. Later in the dream I met a man who wrote a huge book about the history of entertainment, which included several pictures of medieval knights as they were a huge influence on video games. The author then used an army tank to run over a Kia SUV or minivan (not sure which). Later, Screech from 'Saved by the Bell' got really angry and began destroying his own apartment. Later, the author, Screech, and Ian from the manga MÄR were on a British train, trying to escape from an evil villain.

In last night's bizarre dream (maybe it was the souvlaki I ate?), I dreamed that Greta Van Susteren was back on Fox News, and did a news report saying that pretty much nobody voted in the 2024 election. I also dreamed that my older sister bought a worn out 1970s sports car (specifically a Triumph TR7). There was also a part of the dream set in the 00s, in which the cast of Australian TV series SNTV did a weird TV special which aired on the Australian version of the Weather Channel, and I was trying to record the TV special but some jerks were trying to stop me.

I had another strange dream last night. In one part of the dream, I was the son of a rich man (who went from being Mr. Burns from Simpsons to being Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh!), but even so I couldn't find a place to spend the night. I ended up meeting some kindly street guys, one of which made pottery as a hobby and commented that he liked me, and I was considering spending the night with them, but ended up not doing so, although later they came to visit at my dad's house, and they gave me some vases. Later in the dream was a very different segment, set on a planet inhabited by two races, one of which was very human-like and other was very small, a bit larger than a toy doll, but the two species had grown to successfully live together, though they did comment on the isolation often found in modern cities.

I had a strange dream last night in which I was watching a weird crime series reunion TV movie involving a crime solving duo with a will-they-or-won't-they relationship, this then morphed into a weird reunion TV movie based on a 1950s/1960s western series (Maverick was mentioned), which then turned into an even weirder straight-to-video film based around 2000s series Naruto, in which some bad shinobi were killing many baby chickens, and attacked good shinobi Naruto by shaving his head.

I had a strange dream last night in which I was working for a demon radio station, which only demons could hear along with select non-demons who have demon friends. There was also a demon TV station, and there was a demon streaming service that among other things featured a 1930s demon cinema newsreel. There were also demon video games, one of which involved destroying bicycles.

I also remember that in the dream, the power company shut down the demon radio station for using too much electricity. Another, non-demon part of the dream involved me still living in Warranwood (where I lived in the late-1990s/early-2000s) and some men were tearing down a neighbour's house using mostly their own strength, and there was then a rain storm, and I looked up an anthology TV series which aired on British broadcaster ITV during the 1950s but it turned out to be lost, though one of the episodes was adapted as a 60 minute theatrical film which still existed.

Additional predictions for the rest of 2024: a well known public broadcaster somewhere in the world will begin to shut down (though I'm not sure which one), more EVs will catch fire, there will be a huge pollution and/or child labour scandal involving one of those trendy companies that young adults love, and skeuomorphism will begin to make a comeback.
