I've not listened to them properly, only heard a couple of their songs, I'll give that album a listen this weekend.

I'm not sure if i'd like hardcore stuff. I've heard a few Black Flag stuff and that seems pretty hardcore to me. I'll definitely give those ones a listen, i know a few people that listen to Dead Kennedys. What do you think their best album?

If you meant hip-hop though i don't really have one, i have favourite albums e.g. GZA - Liquid Swords, another really good one is Madvillian - Madvilliany, sadly just the one album though. I got slightly addicted when i first listened to it. How about some punk recs? I don't have enough.

I'm glad you're liking 'em! Yeah, Al Green and Otis really got these unique voices. Al's is almost soft and delicate sounding, but he can still sound powerful when he needs to. Otis's almost sounded effortless with his smooth rasp, it's sad that he died young though... And you're right, Sly & the Family Stone really did have an unique sound... And let me see. You've already been listening to some Wu-Tang, but you gotta check out their solo projects! Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon is my favorite album of all time. Some prefer Liquid Swords by GZA though, if you're into a darker ambience. You like Nas and stuff though, so you'll probably like The Sun Rises in the East by Jeru the Damaja. Also check out Midnight Marauders by A Tribe Called Quest. If you're looking for something newer and a little more out there, listen to Madvilliany by Madvillian.

Curtis Mayfield - Superfly. With Ray Charles and Otis Redding you can just go with some "Best of" or "Greatest Hits" sort of album. Maxwell - Urban Hang Suite. I wish I could direct you to a blog with downloads, but I don't really know any myself. When I really feel compelled to download an album I usually just use a youtube to mp3 converter, but that can be a lot of work as you might imagine.
