haha excellent news :) here we tend to kill two birds with one stone, no birds involved in French, but the stone strikes twice too! I loved Suede in the 90s, but grew off them gradually, not really interested in what they're doing nowadays. On the other hand I adore Pulp's new-ish song "After You"!

Have you managed to catch ...Trail of Dead live yet? They played in Glasgow on Sat. and that's the wildest I've seen them in years :)

I've kinda gone off Mogwai (and a lot of "post rock") but still love some of their early stuff. They have a new remix album out, some fantastic stuff on there (and some not so good). Really really digging Pretty Lightning just now, LP is on its way :) Will give Long Distance Calling a listen later on...but my 'to listen to' list is rapidly growing between recent releases and end of year lists.

I don't get the same post rock vibe from ..Trail of Dead which strikes me immediately with CBP. Listening to a German band today, Pretty Lightning, I may well order the LP.

Not sure about Crippled Black Phoenix, not really listening to a lot of "post-rock" nowadays, I did pass on the recommendation to someone else who I thought would like them though, and she really does!

Yeah it's been an excellent few months for new albums, Trail of Dead (great seeing them live again too!), Moon Duo and Goat have all been on heavy rotation here :)

Yeah I do get the emails and read them but often on my phone so then I forget to go listen to new tracks. As much as I despise Placebo (hold on... does that mean they split up?) that can't be a bad thing for him.

ooh excellent recent tracks ;) I find Moon Duo's Escape is better than Mazes though. Spiritualized are playing some festivals this summer (maybe I should plan for La Route du Rock...) and I'm sure they'll be back touring afterwards.

ah thankfully i don't really do nostalgia so that saves me quite a bit of money :D i do keep my old stuff, but i'm generally not over-fussed with getting all old rarities, re-editions etc.. having said that, i still ought to invest in suede/dog man star with the dvds, and the grandaddy - sophtware reedition. six by seven demos can wait.

i <3 doggen! (i'm sure you can find the 2 connections betw death of 6x7 and doggen). not hugely fond of 'everything you see...'. you might have noticed i'm a lot more excited about the upcoming spotlight kid lp! to get back to chris i've made my point about the release cycle. i really think he would benefit from a proper album that could be marketed in a more conventional fashion (i don't mean changing the music, just having a coherent album)

Fahren mit dem Auto hin und danach wieder zurück, wird also auch nach dem Konzert noch eine lange Nacht, aber mal sehen, was sich machen lässt! Hookie wollte ich übrigens im Februar in Erlangen sehen, aber hat er ja abgesagt, der... Knauserer. Was ich sonst so von The Light kenne, fand ich zwar eh zweifelhaft, aber ich wollte die Songs einfach mal live hören.
