This Spider Mansion record was quite interesting, the whole contrast of the quiet acoustic instrumentation against the screaming and whatnot I thought was pretty unique (not that I'm all that well versed in emo or its revival). Would love to see what the guy can do with that sound when/if he does a full-length. Varsity Warrior Football was probably the standout for me, though I thought the whole thing was solid, I really liked the samples on that track and the closer also. I can't really decide whether I like the sort of home recorded feel, particularly with regards to the piano, or whether studio recording would help. But enough of my ramblings, I threw a couple euros at it because why not, GO LLR

It's actually kind of getting to the point where it's refreshing to see new record releases on black vinyl, seems like every indie artist these days is doing colored vinyl instead. I booted it up just last night for the first time in what feels like years and realized you can actually get some crunchy noise rock sounds if you play a record in the mixer, hit the distortion/radio/whatever-it-is button, and crank up all the way. Three tracks of electric guitar, one of bass, and beat the shit out of the snare in the rhythm track and you're practically My Bloody Valentine circa 1988. Would definitely love to hear all the stuff you wrote. It's all I really have in the way of composing software since I don't have a DAW or anything so I used to make all my shit on it.

Er I got it Wednesday, what is time I don't know

Got my copy on Friday, only a tiny scrape at the top of the gatefold sleeve. Not bad for traveling like nearly 7000 km to get here. CD packaging is pretty disappointing though and neither it nor the record really have the same color pop as the digital artwork, but the inside of the gatefold has some trippy artwork with lots of warm hues that I really like.

I'm getting worried, apparently most copies that have been shipped out here to America have been totally destroyed when they arrived. I guess the ones going out locally to Ireland and the UK have been mostly fine, though, so hope yours won't get all dinged up!
