Very very strange to hear such a straight treatment applied to Clinic. But just proves how great their songs are underneath the freaky sonics.

I really don't know! That whole album is a bit mysterious, it came to me in a plain white sleeve as a free surprise when I ordered some stuff from their website. Seems possible!

You are right. I've had a hard time avoiding female vocalists this year, what with solo releases from Amy Millian, Emily Haines and Neko Case plus Broadcast, My Brightest Diamond, Cortney Tidwell, etc. I'm seeing Cortney Thursday night. Hope it's good!

Oh you've more than made up for that with everything else! Was listening to a bit of Scale on my way into work... the orchestration is be-yoot-iful!

Tech support is back - I need a new Mac here at work but the contents of the hard drive are salvageable. One day I will scrobble from everywhere again!

You know, while I was without a computer, the two albums I was most jealous to see you with were Animal Collective's Feels and Herbert's Scale... PS - Interested in [artist]Hood[/artist]? You should be. Get in there!

The live Salt the Skies is one of the most impressive band performances I've seen. Great energy, and they turned a medium-intensity song into a perfect and noisy jam. I enjoyed the jazz festival stuff (Ten-Day Interval and Othello), which mostly showcases how skilled and versatile the Tortoise/Chicago Underground crew is.

Yes, it's all pretty great. I still have a few of the live shots to watch, but I've seen almost all of the DVD. Some of the live bits are odds and ends rather than essential Tortoise, and some of the videos don't quite do the band justice, but even despite this, the DVD is excellent. The b-sides, rarities and remixes are incredible too.

Oops yes! Perils of staying on the Dashboard, sorry! Oxford surely is very gothic and beautiful, with all those stone buildings surrounded by green meadows and grazing deer. Although whenever I go I seem to spend more time getting the family's feast from the Chinese takeaway than hanging around with deer

I went to school in Oxford, would like to say that Radiohead were all there, but they weren't. However the guy playing guitar for the school play was later in Ride then Oasis

Oh, well worth it! Completely unrelated, but you may need to re-dl track 8 of Philip Glass, there was a service interruption! ( :-( I'm choosing to ignore that glitch_

Reindeers reminded me more of Snow Patrol than the Delgados, which is a bit less interesting in my eyes I'm sorry to say. On the other hand I've been loving absolutely all of that Calexico...

when i was in college my roommate's boyfriend would put music on my computer in return for me letting him use it while i was in class. he introduced me to everything from aphex twin to the books to lightnight bolt to iron & wine, etc, etc. i loved (or grew to love) almost everything he gave me. i guess you could say i have him to thank for my diverse taste, and I love him for it!

I'd forgotten all about the Reindeer Section - just looked them up and it turns out they had someone from every single Scottish band EXCEPT the Delgados!
