You know what? I have absolutely no idea exactly how 'ver 'ver in 'ver Pets came about, but it's basically a reference to old issues of Smash Hits magazine (as is most of my life, actually). I think it's an inexplicable mispronunciation of The Pets.

The Relentless progress has started. Thinking about it on the subway home, I was going to put Battleship Potemkin up there too, for a Kraftwerk-esque tip, but stupid DRM got in my way. For now. Interpol is one of the few 'justified' bands that I don't actually 'get'. I like their records, but I don't really get the phenomenal aspect. But yeah, I'm seeing Liars too. And Battles should be pretty great, yeah.

Oh, I've just been talking to Bert about the PSBs and that reminded me – if you're a big fan of Box of Spiders (AND WHO ISN'T FRANKLY??), and while you're in the mood to listen to music you wouldn't ordinarily listen to (i.e. Jimmy) I perversely thought you might be interested in having a listen to PSB's mostly instrumental Relentless album.
