Explaining the lyrics of Gavin Degraw's "Medicate the Kids": For me it's about the inherent contradiction and general hypocrisy of the government and social systems. Yo're told don't use drugs as a kid but the government and society has no problem popping you full of pills if you're depressed or psychologically defunct.
