Compilations are definitely the way to go unless feel like going through a lifetime's worth of music just for one composer. If you get bored try some more contemporary stuff although you might want to stay around the old fashioned classical a bit longer so you can actually notice the evolutions. Feel free to bother me if you're looking for individual pieces and shit

wish i could! i've traversed the psychedelic path about to it's end. i mean, of course there are loose ends to tie up but i'm exploring inner space without any chemical assistants at the moment and it's plenty more rewarding so if there's nothing available just try some kundalini yoga and meditation to get just as high!

Well, Bach owns the crap out of Vivaldi and pretty much everybody else! Hmm, you might like some pulse related muzik since you mention Glass. Stravinky's the Rite of Spring comes to mind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf0e_n49dcQ) and it's pretty short too for an orchestral werk. John Adams too hits the spot fer this sorta thing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1zz7BjuLCg). You may have heard of Steve Reich but his music doesn't really move me so I'm afraid I can't help you there. I find this kinda muzik a bit easier to follow than Bach but there is still alot of subtle complexity beneath the surface. So yeah, I'm no means a complete expert as it's a big world that I'm still actively discovering. Feel free to stalk me and ask questions anytime though :-)

I don't know Playdude, that's an even harder question than a total newbie asking for some rawk recs. Do you show them Led Zeppelin and the Stones or do you jump straight ahead to the so called alt-stuff? There's definitely alot more to classical muzik than just Mozart, fancy white wigs and string quartets so you'll have to tell me what you like first and I'll tell you from there. I do know for a fact that those AnCo dudes dig the modern composer Penderecki who has alot of pieces that are just pure organized timbre.
