Hi, still dropping in from time to time for interesting new sounds - cheers! You're a big Hammill/Van der Graaf listener aren't you... you might like to give Cressida (one of the old UK Vertigo label bands) a go, if you're interested? Both their albums were pretty good, A cracking 2020 to you

Well that video was trippy, some parts reminded me of Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, which is a mexican band too, although it's in their live shows where they tend to improvise/jam a little more and strech their tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77ctvB2oVrY oh and thanks again

Thanks for that recommendation, really enjoyed it and I'm feeling like this could become a personal favorite, at least when I get asked about bands from my country. I also think its funny how I never heard of this band in the past and yet know all the other bands that Spotify says are similar to them.

With almost 4k artists in your library it's kind of tricky to know what to recomend you, so I guess checking "friends who listen" in the artist profile is easier, I just listened to Current 93 - Black Ships Ate the Sky and noticed you have listened to that band but just a few times, so if you'd like, give that album a chance.

woah thanks, yup my library is still getting there since I'm back to this site, (shame I deleted my first one to begin with lol). I see Jenny Hval there, saw her last year and the set was so good, kinda "out there" but also friendly at the same time, everyone lost their shit when she sampled lana del rey from her iphone

Same here, it's like every year I miss more shows than the previous one, and I can't allow that to happen since it's rare for big acts/acts I like to came to my country (Mexico) hopefully I'll get to see GY!BE and Babyfather and others in what's left of this year in two festivals. Yeah I remember that compilation, it was kinda exhausting tbh but really good stuff, full of passion.

Hello Paul, I saw you as a [url=http://www.last.fm/music/Tes+Elations/+listeners]top listener of 'Tes Elations'[/url] and thus, I want to recommend you [url=http://www.last.fm/user/Erkan-Yilmaz/journal/2014/12/23/6clrgm_compositions]my releases[/url] also (one reason being: [artist]Tes Elations[/artist] + my artist have VERY HIGH similarity, and they're [group]EYRS[/group]). As orientation for you: I tagged my 31 tracks mostly with [tag]violin[/tag], [tag]wood and string[/tag], [tag]minimal[/tag], [tag]piano[/tag], [tag]experimental[/tag]... [url=http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Music_compositions_listeners]Here[/url] you can see which tracks other listeners liked most. (Please also drop by at the [group]EYRS[/group] group! The current top4 group tags are: [tag]violin[/tag], [tag]experimental[/tag], [tag]electronic[/tag] and [tag]avant garde[/tag]...)

I saw a good set from them at an outdoor camping fest (Strange Daze) in '97, but Nik Turner's solo set was better

Thanks a lot! Plenty of good stuff in your library as well. Some that I'm not that familiar with. It's always great to get into new music!

Thanks a lot for the reference on Charles Mingus! I'm still not quite sure what to do with the feeling of recognition I experienced on the first times of listening, but I'm fascinated by the melody and the rhythm, and if that brings me to new music, I guess that's what matters. ;)

Thank you so much for the compliment on my library! Yours is awesome too! I especially like how The Velvet Underground and Messiaen and next to each other in your charts...nice! The Messiaen class I took was at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas...where I got my undergraduate degree. Yes, I am a full-time musician. I play drums in a Grammy-nominated Cajun band...and I do session work mainly as a pianist/organist. What part of the country are you in? Feel free to message me...I'd love to know about your music studies and/or current musical activities--best, paul

lastfm just played me this after a RuthCrawfordSeeger piece I noticed you'd tagged & I thought you might like it(or be interested anyway??). I think it is VERY different from his other tracks though. http://www.last.fm/music/Ceniza+y+la+Banda+Fantasma/_/Magic+Lamp -it plays direct & it is very short.

Hey there, I think you made a really interesting point about John Cale's 'Academy in Peril' (the songs 'all have to do with how a rock artist who came out of the classical milieu can re-imagine it from outside the the academic world of contemporary classical music'). Really nice take on kind of a difficult album. Thanks for that.
