That's ok. I really am, yes. I've seen Howard fronting KSE some years ago so it'll be interesting to see Jesse. A bonus that Sylosis are a supporting band. I saw them in January but I'm more than happy to see them again.

Sorry the late reply! That's great news about moving in with the gf! I've applied for Swansea and Exeter for the MA, pros and cons with both as although i'd be going to a better uni at Exeter, i'd be living at home too to save money which would be a bit weird to get used to again full time! The Morrisons is close-ish, but in a very touristy area so it's very busy during the summer, not ideal :/

Yeah i'm thinking of doing the MA straight after, was thinking of taking a year out but think i'll go for it in Sep. That's cool your moving out, must be weird living with the parents full time again, is that with some mates? Yeah i've got two exams plus the VIVA, still got another essay to do once the dissertation is finished though i've got another week or so extra for that one luckily! The optional module I have this term is Media and Society in the 1930s with Kevin Williams - it's pretty interesting. Might be defecting to Morrisons as it's looking doubtful my waitrose will have any hours to give out for temps this summer and i'll need the money big time if I do do the MA straight away.

Hey mate, all is good thanks, how about you? Sat in the library as we speak working on the dissertation, coming to the end of my first overall write-up and i'm already over 10,000 :/, looks like i'll be doing a lot of editing over the next 2 weeks. Are you thinking of doing your MA next year or are you going to work a bit longer? looks like I might have to join you as being a Morrison's worker this summer!

Hey there! I live in the Forest Of Dean so I'm relatively close to Bristol and Cardiff. That last ASIWYFA gig at the Barfly was insane wasn't it!

Hey mate, are you getting tickets to see Mogwai on their tour next year? Was thinking of attending the Cardiff date.

congratulations mate, that's brilliant! :D. We have to wait till the 7th till we get our results back, so not long to wait, will let you know how i've got on :)

That's cool, well basically the diss will be 40 credits, the special subject will be 40 credits and then those two modules. I have no real idea, though would like to do an MA, just depends whether it'll really help career wise, as I can't see myself staying on after that for PhD; just the problem with money like you hinted at, especially seeing as they seem to hope to shut down the history department here over the next decade! :/ Anyways, best of luck with whatever you choose to do, and enjoy a nice break away from studying :)

Nice going, shame about the 48, but the Diss mark and the other exam are brilliant! Exams seem to have gone pretty well, had high 2:1's or firsts on all the stuff back this semester so far, though not expecting much from the Practice of History exam! lol. I've picked Prisoners of War and Media and Society in the 30s for next year, we only get two optional modules because they've changed it so that our diss's are worth more. So what are you planning on doing now?

Interesting! Nah, I don't have much planned since exams start a couple of weeks after so I'll probably be revising....

Writing essays and stuff like that - though not on your scale! What's the 9,000 words about? And I know man - I need to start listening to EITS and Less than Jake again hahaha...

Hey, cheers for the offer although I bought it straight after the first lecture! thanks though, good luck with the dissertation, sounds interesting, when exactly do you get to choose what you write it on etc?

simon_andrew
wow, that is a fair bit of work! what's your dissertation on? This semester I chose Post War Reconstruction (looking like it's going to be a lot of work :/), Nazi Occupied Europe and then the mandatory module Practice of History, which seems a lot better than I thought it was going to be!

Heya, I'm really glad you liked Comforting Sounds too! It's one of my favourite songs ever and one of Mew's best :D What time are we meeting today? If you finish at 5 I could come into uni and meet you. My internet's broken, we hate Virgin :(

Oh really, are you guys getting the train to Cardiff for FT? I haven't got a clue where the venue is so i'm a bit stuffed. also I haven't bought a ticket yet, i'm trying to convince my housemate to go too. i think tickets were quite reasonably priced. oh, and how the mighty are fallen, Ash used to fill stadiums (well, very small ones). I quite like them, but not enough for 17 quid's worth of sticky floors :P

Nah, I haven't heard it yet. bank balance has been a bit dubious for obvious reasons recently :P I 've been going out quite a lot but I was lucky enough to catch a special strain of freshers flu! it involved weird exhaustion, a very sore throat and feverish hallucinations! Annoying especially as I'm not even afresher. But I am soooo glad to be back in my adopted hometown. we should meet up for a drink or go a gig if they every get anyone good in sin city :P

Most universities don't really care about language any more, which is a shame because there are some awesome high earning jobs involving languages which graduates aren't trained for anymore =P It's cos the schools don't care about teaching them so why would students pick a language to study at uni for 3 years. I'd like to explore Cardiff. I have a friend going to uni there this year. it's just way too big and scary at the moment! Oh and Torchwood =P
