Hello, I'm sorry I haven't had chance to reply. Yes Kyoto is definitely the most beautiful place I've ever been. I took so many pictures but I'm the only person interested in them hahah .Yes I visited Nara. It's really pretty if you want to go. The Deer are at Nara Park which is about 20 minutes walk from the JR station. Have you bought a JR rail pass? If you've got one of those you can get on the Hikari/Kodoma shinkansen for free. Hikari takes about 3/4 hours to get to Tokyo from Osaka. Kodoma is longer. If you've not got one, Nozomi is quicker but stupidly expensive. If you want to see underground bands I suggest just looking for live bars. There are lots of them and they have a really nice atmosphere. You will find some pretty much anywhere you go :).

You can visit Dotonbori and Amerikamura while you're there. Probably grab something to eat in Dotonbori and then go drinking in Amerikamura (if you like drinking haha). There's a group of bars all linked together that my friend went to when she went and I'll try and find the name of the place out for you. I'd just recommend exploring more than anything. Try and fit in as much as you can and I'm sure you'll have a good time. Can you speak any basic Japanese (for ordering food etc)? If you do try to go to the 'really small' restaurants and bars because you need a bit of Japanese but they're usually the best :). Also, it's rude to eat in public if you're not sat down haha. That took a while to get used to XD. What type of things do you want to do? I'll be more specific XD.

2 weeks in Osaka? I'm jealous. I was in Japan for two weeks but I travelled around (I backpacked on my own). It really depends on what type of things you're interested in doing. If you want to see temples and stuff I'd recommend going to Kyoto for the day (Kyoto and Osaka were my favourite places :)) Take the 205 bus from Kyoto Station to Shijo Kawaramachi (Last stop so you won't miss it). Walk to the closest traffic lights and turn left (I think). There should be a McDonalds, if you see that you're going the right way. Then carry on over the bridge and just go straight on right to the end (A bit of a walk but worth it). Then you should see some steps and an entrance, if you go through there you can just go through there and there's so many up on that hill :). Also, if you explore Kyoto's really small streets there are some really amazing places to eat. The river that the bridge is over had street bands every night I was there too :). In Osaka I'd recommend staying the day near Namba..

Yes it's gorgeous!! I recommend going on a nice day if you can. The inside is kind of like a museum, there's a couple of interesting things in there but nothing I'd particularly recommend, but I'd recommend going in anyway to go to the top because it's a really nice view :). I'd also recommend just going past it when it's dark at some point (It's not open then though). It's lit up and it looks really amazing. I went to visit it on my way back to the airport on my last night. It's 600 yen to get in :). How long are you going to Japan for? Osaka's amazing, I hope you enjoy it!

Hey ! I hope you don't mind ,I was going through my old shouts and ran across yours again : ) I Was curious so I dug into your library a little . I didn't take nothin' Honest ! LOL I was curious about what songs you liked from Journey . And got a big shock ,Your library says that you have never listened to pre -Perry Journey . Have you ever heard any of the first 3 LP's ? Well I have some YouTube vids here for you . I didn't spend a lot of time to track everything down, Maybe you will be inspired to do that on your own. I own the 2,nd and 3rd CD's Still need to get the first . But I have heard it a lot of times ,Back in the day. A school friend owned it , And we listened to it a lot ! I also noticed that you are geared toward the heavier stuff from your most plays list . These songs are what have kept me a fan of Journey since it's inception . And this sound is definitely harder than after Steve Perry joined the band.

The interesting thing about most of the music that I have experienced by Santana ,It was not deep lyrically But very deep musically . Not to say they didn't have any deep lyrics . Some of that stuff was very spiritual . But Have you ever seen them in a live concert clip ? The whole band is having fun ! They aren't trying so hard to impress people . They don't need to their music does it for them . It is just another part of pop culture to leave Santana's achievements unacknowledged for so long . And then only because of one song . Mark Noffler From Dire Straights was awarded and billed as guitarist of the year for the song Money For Nothing . Probably the worst song that Dire Straights ever recorded . He even came right out and said that there were far more worthy guitarists out there. OK enough Already I believe we apologized to each other , And I know I have no hard feelings . I do have a lack of conveying my thoughts into words efficiently though . Sorry about that : )

Porcupine Tree, And too many others . Also Jim Croce or Richard Ashcroft are a couple of the most talented singer songwriters I have ran across . Well I listened to Jim in the 70's when he got lots of airplay , Actually he is a story teller the best that ever lived .and Verve in the early 90's . I suppose that there could be lots of rap music with deep meaning , But you have to know how to decode the message . sort of like how Bob Dylan's Tambarine Man ( can't spell it! ) was a code word for a drug dealer in the 60's . But I have very little tolerance for the #$@$#$ words every other word . I cuss myself, but not like that ! But I don't believe that all music simply MUST have deep lyrics to be good . It is meant to be enjoyed . I know that statement is an oxymoron from what I said about Journey. But I know what the band was capable of . The Drummer and Neal Schon ( not sure on spelling ) played with Carlos Santana at woodstock . Even then Santana was one of the best .

Ah Don't worry about it ! I take it all in stride , I have a thick skin and try notto take anything too personally . And I agree they had some really deep lyrics . I also have heard just about every song played by them on the radio Played onto death . I mean the Needles were scraping the turntable . And then the laser beams burned wholes in the discs . It would be nice to hear Look Into The Future even once on the radio . I love most music And i used to love Journey even with Steve Perry back in the 70's . But I had always hoped that they would make some of the stuff that got me interested in them in the first place. They never did. The music seemed to become the stuff that appeals more to love starved teenagers . It would be very interesting to Take a poll ,of the Fans both sex and age before and after Steve Perry joined the group . That said I have some rather deep songs listed on my wall . Not the Curve stuff . Lamb and Iq come to mind . Not listed would be Pendragon ,Rush,

Yes Journey was most successful with Steve Perry . I rest MY Case Since I stated that they turned into just another Love drenched POP band instead of the awesome progressive band that they were before. POP Bands are always more successful .But I am among many of my peers of the opinion that Success has Nothing to do with quality It does not prove how good you or a band is .. It just means that you are living the high life . If Success always meant quality then tell me What Quality song has Lady Gaga done ? Or just about any rapper on the planet . ( The only quality you get from them is explicit lyrics )
