Oh, life over here is going pretty well, I guess. The economy is still in the doldrums but I always try to look on the bright side of things. How's life over there in the US?

It was about a 20 minute drive from my old place, so not too far. It's closer to work than before, so that's nice. I've been too busy with life lately, haven't had much time for the internet. I almost forgot how fucking awesome you are Baily, Almost.

Ah, Nick Cave is great. I especially love Let Love In. Great album. Lately, I've started listening to Talk Talk. Spirit Of Eden is a fantastic album and I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't heard it already. Apart from that, I've also been listening to a bit of Jackson C. Frank and a bit of the Lemonheads and The Blue Aeroplanes.

Have you heard Brit Daniel and Dan Boeckner's new project Divine Fits? I'm thinking of going to their concert.

That's great! I've been busy myself. I have to admit, it feels pretty good. I'm still trying to adjust to happiness, but I've certainly had worse problems.

I've always been serious about writing

Creative writing classes are fun. I still have my creative writing journal from college because I was pretty prolific in it and I got a lot of good criticism from my writing teacher. Creative writing teachers usually have good recommendations for books/authors. They tend to recommend interesting and experimental writers instead of the same old authors from the literary canon.

Lol that's awfully specific. I almost forget Beck was a Scientologist. I highly suggest reading about Scientology sometime, it's quit entertaining.

My finger's starting to feel a bit better, so it must be working. Lol even without insurance it'd be cheaper to go to the hospital than get all the way up to level 7 in Scientology.

My girlfriend sings, so we used to go to a lot of open mic nights. We've been too busy for that lately (at least that's what we tell ourselves). What are your plans as far as your musical career goes?

I'm not very familiar with Gertrude Stein, I'll have to look into some of it. T.S. Eliot is my favorite. I've read The Waste Land more times than I'd like to admit. I briefly dated a girl who performed at poetry readings a lot, so I used to go to a lot of those. Do you go to many local concerts or arts events?

I'm not one to use "epic" or "fail" to often, though I do throw "douchebag" around pretty freely at times. It' strange to think just how much of an impact the internet has had on our culture.
