I've finally got started on converting and tagging some musics! Currently listening to 燐音 -RINNE- by MW (Rekka Katakiti & Haruka Shimotsuki). This is by far the album I am most excited to listen to out of all albums I didn't know would be released and so far it's awesomeness. ^___^ Did you grab the new cytokine album? And what about the new album by 六弦アリス? There's just too much awesome music this time. I am not worthy! ;_;

Oh, please don't mention Comiket... My hard drives are crying from all data that's coming down. >.<;;; 20GB of only music down and there's more to come... >.> It's crazy how much good stuff came out this time. I'm not sure whether I got more because I find new favourite artists each Comiket or if there just was so much good stuffs this time around...

I thought Mono's newest album felt pretty like your standard post-rock fare. I dunno, I haven't really listened to much post-rock recently.

People take life too seriously and forget how to enjoy themselves when they get stuck in the "you are too old to do that" rut, and they are further limited by their own prejudice. I think it is perfectly possible to grow up but still keep a youthful and open sense of mind. All music that is made is real music, but people don't seem to understand that. They just need to broaden their horizons and stop talking badly about anything that is unfamiliar to them! I posted a rant similar to this on my homepage only a couple of days ago. I lose more and more faith in humanity when they keep acting as they do, but it is refreshing to have talks like these. :)

Doujin music is indeed often connected in all kinds of ways. I really like the sense of familiarity I get from listening to new music by artists I like, no matter what style of music they play. That's a big reason for why I like Touhou music. I love hearing which ways the songs can be arranged. Furthermore, this familiarity is a big reason for why I listen to much "anison"/seiyuu/image music. The music reminds me of the anime I just watched or it brings back the memories of an older series. I think to some, my music library might look simple and like it doesn't hold much "quality" because it isn't "real" music, but if you ask me it isn't so at all!

Heheh. I listen to what I listen to because I like it and others' opinions on my choice of music don't matter to me. It is true that there is so much music and more being produced all the time. I have a feeling that if I wanted, I could listen to a new song every moment of my life and I wouldn't run out of music. However, that's not anything I would do, because I like to revisit older and familiar songs because I like them. As for variety, I have my own little ways to look for music. I like to look at what a favourite artist/vocalist has made and then maybe look at the composers of said songs or collaborations with said artists. It is much harder for me to find new "j-pop" because they are all on their own and I don't really know what to expect of those artists. So, all in all, no worries here. I wouldn't say that what you said was unwanted, though. It is nice hearing someone else having similar thoughts, so I don't wish for anything to be unsaid. :)

I think my selection of music is fairly broad, but there's certainly a lot of doujin music and I guess that itself limits what I listen to. I'm really bad with following artists and finding new ones outside of the doujin niche. I often find that an artist I like and listen to has released both albums and several singles since I last checked on them. I also often seem to move on to new things and listen to those a lot until I find something else. As I mentioned earlier, I am rather forgetful so I might forget what I used to like. Haha. Who forgets the things they like? >.>; People around me ask how I can listen to almost exclusively Japanese music, but I don't even have time to listen to all of that that I want, so there's definitely no lack of new and old Japanese music. Heh. <.< Akiko makes beautiful music! :D I actually found her through last.fm a couple of years back. I am really grateful for that. :)

I've got Third-Rater, ±PM, Virtual x Real, FLASHBACK, hatch the new Fl∞w, and a+jugos to be tagged. I'll try to prioritise cytokine next. It's always like this, though, I find something good and then I grab what I can find and end up with too much all the time. ^^: I also have one album titled LITERAL WORLD by 岸田教団＆The明星ロケッツ. It's just that I so fast forget why I got something so it gets down-prioritised for tagging. >.<;;;;;;; I've got a whole bunch of Touhou albums but I'm not sure which is best... REDALiCE makes some good tracks. 孟世 has absolutely brilliant guitar arrangements! Then there's all the collaboration/collection albums with Touhou arrangements which are also good (at least many of them). I am no fan of IOSYS and there are a couple of other creators whose music I can't stand either but I seem to have lost their names now... ^^: I love hearing all different ways the Touhou music can be arranged, though! ^__^

I'll check that out, I do like me some Supercar. Might I add that if you enjoy that sound, The Notwist (from Germany) kind of pioneered the whole "electro-indie"(?) thing and have a couple excellent albums. Neon Golden would probably be a good starter.

Metal is a pretty broad genre, and by that I meant anything from such 80s sounding Judas Priest style to melo-death, haha. I don't like to refer to genre either too much, but it's relatively easy to do with the cookie cutter format of a lot of modern music :P But yeah, I'll look into them. I hate to shove things into genre, yeah, I guess that nerve of awesome is what I was aiming for. Firing up downloads now! Also, when it comes to Japanese metal, would Loudness, Galneryus, X-Japan, and bands of that sort not be considered metal? What are they?

Ah true, I collect all sorts of music on my harddrive, several hundred gigs. I left my playlist on random through my whole library last night as I put my computer into sleep mode. Fergie ended up playing resulting in many lols. Either way, go Lumsk! Never got much into Japanese music besides Galneryus, Takayoshi Ohmura, and X-Japan. Care to recommend some good j-metal?
