oh. well, he keeps his green toes (the paint, not the toe) in a special hole he dug behind frank's (his alligator uncle) pond. problem is, this pond is actually existing in it's own dimension somewhere on the backend of time and space. basically, we're only able to reach it under very careful and exact planning. this is difficult, though, because i don't know how to speak burrow owl.

well it's a long story. there was this tree, where a burrow owl lived (which is strange in itself, since they prefer to burrow), and though he'd normally run away from strangers, it turns out he enjoys the same type of tea as myself. needless to say, we hit it off, and he took me to his secret treasure room (a hole in the tree) and wouldn't you know it, there were a whole bunch of toes.
