I discovered this stuff more than twenty years ago, on the tape - Enigma bootleg, full title: Enigma & D'Emotion project. It's new age, world music genre. Try my fav https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouVhwjr9yhI That bootleg https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3BuYDpfIVi8iEY76EWUClN?si=ixJzBhpvRRC9p4RKjN9-PQ

Nah, since long time I don't find 'new' Burial interesting anymore. Guy recorded the best he could already. Bonobo, I heard a new track on the radio. Speaking of Bonobo it is good to listen to his early albums such as "Dial M for Monkey", classic chillout warm downtempo, sounds amazing almost 20 after.

About Burial - same feeling. I thought that I didn’t understood his stuff but looks like it’s doesn’t have the quality of his early works. Bonobo - so You said that early works better? I can’t say that I highly impressed by his last album. Ps. Billow Observatory released new EP and it’s good!

More CFCF :) Good question buddy to a test of my musical knowledge, challenge accepted! The closes thing I'd recommend would be from Good Looking Recods and ofc LTJ Bukem himsellf especially "Journey Inwards" and associated acts from LTJ's Good Looking Records... Lush jazzy dnb electronica, yeah...the UK duo... Blu Mar Ten... comes to my mind!!! Check out two of their albums from early 00's "The Six Million Names of God" and "Producer 03"

I had a huge playlist on Spotify with all GLR releases but I prefer to listen it separately. I checked Journey Inw. yesterday, it’s good. Thanks for reminding, I listened it long time ago. I need music for sport, so it’s should be non slow.) Next I will check Blu Mar Ten.

Now when I finished to listen album I can agree, it’s a kind of melancholic. I liked the beginning and gonna listening album again. It’s not a first his release with such mood, what about Decay of my heart and Sleepygirls? The only one difference - there wasn’t classical instruments.

What You can recommend from Robert Rich exception of his famous things like Gaudi, Rainforest. I checked few albums recently - with themes from “Akarmara”. Album with Alio Die is pretty good.

Definitely two albums with Steve Roach - superb stuff. Iconic Stalker with Lustmord. There is also album with Lisa Moskow - Yearning which is close to superb album with Alio Die. Solo. Geometry (1991) - brother to Gaudi Propagation (1994) - continuation of Rainforest themes. Pretty nice though. Calling Down the Sky (2004) - one of his best. Open Windows (2004) - piano exclusive! Echo of small things (2005) - quiet and nocturnal. Electric Ladder (2006) - rhythmic with synthesizers his latter albums like Ylang and Medicine Box are nice too.

You're right, on Julius there is 80's mood with some "new romantic" twist that almost make you dance :) Can't say I know them really well, someone recommended me their older and well acclaimed works like Shadows of the Sun, Messe, Blood Inside but they didn't click for me, but Julius was like whoaa. I don't scrobble all - due to different sources of listening, webstream, mobile, etc. My scrobbles only come from listening setup on my pc and sometimes from my mobile when I run the app. Thanks for the wishes, all the best as well!

New interview with Rod Model, on this episde Rod reflects further on psychological and transcendent approach he applies of his own music, what is wrong with harsh sounding modern techno and why nowdays music is so short lived and more. Also some of his personal recommendations from the 90's. Very good read and as usual I added this to my txt journal with ALL Echospace/Detroit interviews and mixes. I still need to check it! I have it bookmarked here, but haven't listened to it yet. I love how Modell is interested on old music. I've been going through digital dust of this same kind of music, since I got addicted on The Caretaker this year. Definitely, good stuff.

It's EXACTLY the link I'm going through these days. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he takes samples from this archive. I know that, in the early incarnations, he sampled 78rpm indeed but I guess that, now, it's all digital.

"So much music today is dark, depressing, and overly aggressive. It actually harms the nervous system. Lots of modern techno is more brutal than SWANS or Fushitsusha Records from the 1980s. It's unnecessary and somewhat irresponsible on the part of the artists. I think being aggressive is easy."

Yes this compilation by Wince is tremendous. Lately I've been listening to a lot of synthwave-retrowave in the summer behind the wheel, I can say I mostly listened to that kind of stuff. Great music for the summer dat retro feel. But generally when I load stuff to my smartphone for a driving trip I usually go for some good mixes and SELECTED tracks usually the best ones - the ones you would put on own mixtape. Sometimes when I have data to blow I let streaming service to be in control. What about you, driver comrade you load full albums?

First, check PM. So, I listened all GAS disco and listened Narkopop again - and I like it. Though it seems more ambient rather than techno. Anyway I like it. Funny but You know what album from his disco I've note? Zauberberg. It was most dark album before Narko was released :D I don't get the most famous album - Pop. Gonna listening it again. Cheers!

Zauberberg - the enchanted mountain. That what it means in German and yeah it's really nightly-dark with this heart-like beats almost disturbing, but there are many moments that sound like the ones Yagya recorded years later, no wonder W.Voigt (Gas) is his major inspiration. POP is really nice, probably the brightest release. Note three first tracks from POP sound almost like "atmospheres" from Rod Modells 20-Electrostatic Soundfields album. Modell also take his inspiration from Gas, he mentioned that many times in interviews. I haven't listened to full NarkoPop yet, but I will on weekend, a headphone session will do.
