Thank you, and same to you! Hit me with some Nick Cave recommendations, been meaning to dive into his music for a long time!

Awesome ~ Nick Cave...I would typically recommend starting with Let Love In, his most critically acclaimed (among many) albums. If you want to just dip a toe or two in, try the songs The Mercy Seat (Tender Prey version), O Children, and Henry Lee. Good starting points.

Thanks! That's very true haha. I've always meant to explore the genre more but haven't gotten around to it. I love Agalloch's The White, Of the Wand and the Moon, Vali, Havnatt, Nest, etc and i've checked out a little Sol Invictus, Death in June, and Current 93. If you had to pick one album to get into it more, what would you recommend?

Sorry I am answering so late, I was about to answer weeks ago, then got distracted and forgot about it. That's a tough question! I think maybe "The Gospel of Inhumanity" by Blood Axis could be very interesting for they have a very unique style, a bit martial industrial-ish and... just magical. And maybe you check out Forseti! It was a German Neofolk project, until the genius behind it had an accident sadly, but it's very beautiful music :)

DEFINITELY masters... think how long their fingertips bled before they got the calluses and the strength in their forearms and fingers and hands. And then it just clicked, and they were one with the instrument. Never give up what you love. It will always love you back...:)

we had a dozen or more- and several hit within a couple of blocks from me. I barely got rain. Weatherman had me going there for a while. Guess the WeatherMaster had other plans....

Thank you! Agalloch were very good. However, I don't know if was the venue they played at (which was a dance hall/ballroom of all places), or that my expectations were beyond belief loving them for years prior, but it was a slight letdown. Probably a combination of the two. But really, the sound was complete fodder at times. And the guitars were not always the loudest when they needed to be. Hope you have fun seeing them, if you do.

Yeah I think he is just quite introverted. Especially playing in a country where his native language isn't spoken

Indeed I have have. Arctic Plateau seems pretty solid too. They should be releasing a new record in 2012, that along with Alcest will be great!

Much appreciative for the info good sir but the situation has been rectified thanks for a friend in the UK! He sent me his OakFolk disc for me to copy and send back. I'm quite happy to have this song at last in something other than 196.

Yes,awesome poem indeed. I love the acoustic guitar and cello, mixed with Haughm's vocals, especially the backing whispers.. Hell, the whole song is a masterpiece!

I searched the original poem, but i couldn't find it,perhaps Google is messing around with me. I recently read "Little Gidding",from T.S Elliot, and I really liked,it shared some similarities with The Fallen Oak/Where Shade Once Was lyrics,at least in my point of view. And yes,i would love if they included the song in a future EP/Compilation.

Dude, thank you so much,I love that song and I couldn't find the lyrics. Thanks a lot. Do you know the title of the original poem,by the way?

hahah, so fucking stoked you like it. I guess I just wasn't very happy in the midwest. The place sucks, all my friends sucked, I sucked. I guess it was running away. But I'm much happier here, even if it is alone. When I moved out, I sold everything I owned. It was pretty pricy to get out here, and its a hell of a lot pricier to live. Rents 520 for a studio apartment. But I'm also 5 minutes from downtown, and don't pay water or electric. Also, WEED EVERYWHERE. thought i'd mention that

nothing much man! I live in Los Angeles now. I'm doing freelance graphic design for now, but I'm hoping to work for a firm soon. I've got an interview this wednesday. But what have you been up to man? Also, as much as you probably hated all the bands I was in, and the music I listened to, check out my band hahah: http://www.last.fm/music/William+Bonney. We're on hiatus now apparently. check out the split, its the best.
