I seldom delete accounts at any websites and stopping scrobbling requires configuring T61, Spotify, Deezer, Bandcamp, my laptop and the music machine... I just do nothing, not caring about last.fm any more but keep the scrobbler running so far.

Ah man. Sorry to hear that. I'm hanging in because my streaming platform, Rdio, is shutting down on the 22nd and between that & the unfortunate changes here, I feel a bit lost in cyber-space. :-( Thanks for letting me know, Mike. A number of my favorite friends simply... disappeared. :'-( Over 12,000 have signed the (probably useless) petition !

They said they'll add the missing features step by step... not sure if the site still exists until then.

Only 38 more needed! (as I type this :-) Pretty impressive, really! Maybe it will at least bring a few of the beloved & greatly missed features back. Maybe. :-)

Thank you! Word is that it will make no difference but I think it's worth a shot, given how much we all lost of what we loved here. :-( Maybe some more of the missing features will return over time.

Luckily my browser is blocking the aggressive ads, nonetheless I rarely visit Last.fm, they are hiding many informations I used to find new music, the layout is unclear, some functionality disappeared. I can't message some musical friends any more. No fun over here.

Websites like Spotify, Deezer or T61 are still scrobbling but the 1.x audioscrobbler of my iTunes music player PC don't. The possibility to easily snoop what someone exactly played the last days got lost, how to widen my jazz knowledge without stalking you?

Nice! It's definitely a brilliant piece, look for a version of it by a Caribbean band called Sparows Troubadours (most probably a collaboration between two bands as there's another band called The Troubadours), I'm sure you'll like it too.

I always enjoyed working on weekends because of the silence and ease in the company during that days. Record stores got few and quite small over here, I confess mainly to go there to buy concert tickets.

Hehehe, after I notice that the bar turned blue and dropped down to fifty percent I enqueued some tracks of SVE, Marvin and Clifford's Memorial Album, that did the job. Not the baddest way to find the music to listen to.

There are so many artist I need to listen again! I rummage my collection for songs/albums to delete but I only find artists I wanna have more music of.

Hehehe, guess if you're good with making music yourself you don't need to optimize the reproduction of other peoples songs. ;) I even send my laptop's sound via Apple Airplay to the stereo.

I love my [url=http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/hdsander/rxv475.png]Yamaha[/url], the Cellar Club sound environment turn the thin and a bit poor tone of the vintage jazz recordings into a full and enjoyable sound experience.

Re-visiting the older parts of my collection with the intention to prune it a bit mostly ends up with adding more music like Chick Corea's Light As a Feather or Dexter Gordon's Our Man In Paris. I removed some "Best of" collections because I meanwhile got all corresponding original albums but the size of the library is still growing. Finally there is no music player any more to manage the 185,000 tracks, an older version of iTunes is still best choice but slow as hell.

Finally: 400,000! It took awhile to play the last 100,000, walking down the river, playing vinyls distracted from scrobbling, listening to long jazz tracks and also last.fm's and iTunes' disposition to drop scrobbles slowed down the progress. During the last week I had huge fun re-visiting some old favorites, 4 years old and also 40 years old, I need to look back more often!

Because I didn't know better I gathered a lot Best-Of releases in the past, not knowing about the old records that are even better than 'best'. It's a benefit of the internet to be able to access so much knowledge now from Discogs, Allmusic, Mike Finkel.

Because I'm not only listening to "Some Jazz" but also complete my collection with albums of the artists I hear there is my "JazzAgain" playlist already 34 hours (36 albums) long.

I have a rip of the 1963 double LP, mono, w/o any remastering. No idea about newer releases, they flooded the market with mostly weird releases (seriously, who needs a complete CD with mr. Goodman's speech during that concert?). I made some really bad experiences with CD re-issues when trying to replace my vinyls in the 90s, many LPs, I love, sounded like crap re-issued on CD.

Checking out [artist]Gene Krupa[/artist] made me listening to The Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert again.
