I notice I mentioned starting some wine a while back. Not done on that, but I bottled my previous batch from about 2001. Not too awfully bad. My plan is that when I've finished drinking that I'm leaving the country. Would be gone already, but there were some family health issues that will keep me here a while yet. Anyway, haven't read Naked Lunch. Saw it's a movie, too. Almost afraid to try that, but then I love weird movies. Saludos!

Hey I haven't really been round too much either. Yeah you were right on how unreadable it is at any rate, the book was exceptionally strange on so many levels, it seemed very easy to read just about anything after Burroughs. I'm thinking I might give the Naked Lunch a go, have you read that?

If you call "hardest book to finish I've ever read" a recommendation... Good luck. Worth the experience. Surprised the hell out of me to find it in my local library. Kind of bible belt here. I guess Indukti could be a bit heavy, but along with other things I like a heavy, dramatic sound. I like their sense of composition. Did Al Hirt do Happy Puppy sometime along the 60's? Saw a few references lately to another Burroughs book, also movie, Naked Lunch. I read the plot summary and it seems every bit as strange as Soft Machine. Anyway, got a music suggestion today from a fellow-listener. On first listen I'm impressed enough to pass it along. Thought of to whom and you seemed a good choice. Just got that impression. Polish band, Indukti - listen to what Lastfm has and it'll give you the idea.

SM book more on the order of totally trippy. Thought it would be more on the order of his compadre, Jack Kerouac's writing. On the road, yes, but to another world altogether. Glad I read it, but a real mind rip. Wore out several vinyl copies of Court of Crimson King. Have the CD now. Only other CD of theirs I have is Power to Believe. Hesitant to buy more without some advance familiarity. Don't recall Lastfm having much in the line of full tracks. Hard to imagine topping Court... Hope to check more over time. Hope to replace some ELP also. Keep in touch. I started some blackberry/cherry wine today. Maybe in a year or so when it's ready we can have a toast. Hasta luego.

No problem about getting back in a timely fashion. Assuming your life is more or less like mine, time comes when it comes. As for Soft Machine, I'll listen to whatever they have on Lastfm for now. As for Burrough's book, SM, there were more pages where not even the sentences were coherent (to the normal being), much less paragraphs, than pages that made sense. Worth the experience, but the weirdest book I ever read.

Noticed you had some Soft Machine in your plays. Hadn't listened to them since their early days. All I remembered was that for some reason I liked them. A few months ago I read Burrough's Soft Machine. Figured at the time they may have gotten the name from the book. Hardest book to finish I ever read. Man had a fevered brain. Tried out a track of SM and remembered why I liked them. I'll be on that more. Thanks for getting me going on that and the shout.
