Not really, been saving for this for a while. Plus I'll be overseas for the time between the Brisbane shows and the Melbourne shows, so I won't really notice it. $200 for tix to each show, but airfares (and having to alter my travel dates for my trip) will kill me being so close to Easter. Terrible timing but at least he's actually coming here.

It's not bad, has a few good tunes. Not amazing though. They're playing at The Zoo in March I think btw.

New Chisel album is pretty good after one listen. 'Everybody' is fantastic, a vintage Don Walker song. Mossy tears it up on 'Summer Moon' and the Barnes-written 'Dead and Laid to Rest' is very catchy soul-rock. Not enough Mossy vocals IMO (there's just two). At very least, Mossy should have sang 'Missing a Girl' instead of Barnes. The song just doesn't suit 2012 Barnesy. 'I Got Things to Do' is a great demo, they left Prestwich's demo vocal on there (which is excellent and I understand why they left it as is) but this one also has Mossy written all over it. Charley Drayton's percussion makes it sound a bit different to any other Chisel album, but it works.

Brilliant. A bit of a departure from the last few pop-laced albums. Plenty of folky and celtic flavours as well as a few of the Boss' regular stomping anthems. Fantastic lyrics all the way though as usual. Best tracks are: Rocky Ground, Death to My Hometown, Wrecking Ball, Land of Hope & Dreams, We Take Care of Our Own. It takes a few listens to really sink in but it's worth it. Rocky Ground is the perfect mix of classic Springsteen and modern experimentation Just get it.

ACOUSTIC BREAKFAST AT SWEETHEARTS :worship: SO MANY HIGHLIGHTS. Semen everywhere over Mossy's harmony vocals and slide acoustic on this one. I choose this as my fave moment. Charley Drayton on the ukelele thing/foot stomps = nice touch

OH, AND, FOUR WALLS :drool: At first I thought it was Plaza (2-minute Mossy track from Breakfast at Sweethearts) which I almost shat myself over because I would have done dispicable things to get that played. But Four Walls was awesome anyway. ///// Tim Rogers = fuckwit. But I already knew that.

Great show last night. You were right - I was amazed as how good Barnesy was, was not expecting that level of intensity or good singing. Acoustic set was very nice, especially turning Yakuza Girls into an acoustic blues, very creative. Makes you realise how many hits they have when you get to the back end of the show and there's still a handful of gimmes thay haven't done yet. There was a minor setlist change, too - we got The Things I Love In You (which is in my top 5 Chisel songs, so very happy about that) instead of Painted Doll. Oh, and we got both new songs - All For You (which worked really well live) and HQ545 (which was ok, nice rolling 50s style piano). Bow River OMFG :worship:

:worship: Yeah I've seen Mossy solo twice in really small pub gigs over the last year and you're not wrong - he is something else. For the record - I HATE the acoustic versions of When the War is Over. haha. Barnsey bring it ftw. Has been playing it sooooo safe in lower registers with his solo stuff lately and Chisel's latest single.

Haha I love Wyman's solo stuff in a messed-up sort of way. 'Gonna Get Me a Gun' > all. First Stone to go solo (pretty early in the game too) and his music is nothing like the Stones at all. I rank his output 3rd in terms of solo Stones: Richards first (two beautiful albums, probs my 2 fave albums ever), Wood 2nd, Wyman third...DAYLIGHT....Jagger dead f*cking last.

Hmm interesting. Reminicent of the song 'Stone Cold' Don Walker wrote for solo Barnes. Nice but nothing earth-shattering, nice Mossy guitar break towards the end. Chisel-by-the-numbers which is probably a wise choice for a single that is solely to promote the tour. Barnes definetly playing it safe vocal-wise much like his last solo album ie. nothing out of a lower register and plenty of backup vocals in choruses.
