Ha ha ha - I had to go look up the shout on the [track artist=Future of the Left]i am the least of your problems (demo)[/track] track you were referring to and it was indeed a good one. The only other band that moves me as consistently with their music as [artist]Future of the Left[/artist] manages to is my favorite band of all time, [artist]NoMeansNo[/artist]. And yes, I completely share your sense of being witness to something very forthright, truthful and direct when I listen to these guys' music. It's really quite special indeed. Have you caught them perform live yet? I'd love to see the new line-up and hope they'll pay my hometown another visit before long. I've seen the original line-up and the one after that about a handful of times.

I always find it really hard to pick the best album by an artist - particularly OB. The albums are all good in their own ways. I just got 'Only A Lad' and 'Boingo' (not to be confused with 'Boi-Ngo' - completely different), which I both love. They're the first and last albums. OaL is really more new wave and leaning towards pop, and has the famous 'Little Girls' as the first track, which you may have heard about on the Internet because of its contoversial subject matter (but it's NOT actually about paedophiles, really). Still a great song and a great album. Boingo is REALLY different. The songs (except 'Tender Lumplings') are all much longer, with 'Change' at 16 mins. The album is more guitar-heavy, but I still love it. If you just want to hear a few songs to get into OB, listening to a comp. might be best. Sorry. Long shout without much help. Hey, thanks for the message - hope you don't mind my snooping. I was checking out your journal - it's an interesting concept, and an enjoyable read. I guess the music on your profile isn't really representative of your true tastes considering your unconventional listening habits, but theres some of good stuff there. I will check out that website, I may have stumbled upon it before, I'm not sure.
