They're pretty popular in indie circles but they never managed to get a famous single in the mainstream public or anything like that. Nowadays they're pretty boring but they're old so that's to be expected, not bad, just boring. But they never sold out so that's a plus. My favorite GBV album is Bee Thousand and I really got into them in 2014 which I now realize was a long time ago lol, I had heard them before but never clicked with me, now they're probably my favorite band although I'm not one of those obsessive fans that listen to everything Pollard puts out and I'm not really interested in the post-Under the bushes albums

Same here when it comes to GBV. I didn't really get it at first but I love them nowadays. I was always more of a Bee Thousand guy, but Propeller is really striking my fancy lately. I've not listened to them as much as you though as I only became acquainted with them properly last year. They have some decent songs post Under The Bushes, but nothing that reaches the heights of their classic period.
