There are differing reports of how it all went down (I've also heard it was just for strumming the piano strings). He went there on a scholarship, but only lasted one year, :P Of course after he got kicked out he went on to play in a pretty successful trio with Jack DeJohnette, and then with Miles Davis, before striking out on his very successful solo career.

Yes, keith jarrett is fantastic, one of my favorite pianists, and certainly a genius, I have all of his solo stuff which I believe is usually performed completely improvisationally, which in it's self is amazing. Also anyone that gets thrown out of Berklee for modifying one of their pianos so it'd sound honky-tonkish gets a round of applause from me, :D

A great place to start looking is the Nodame Cantible Best 100, which is an 8 disc set of music from either the live action show or the anime (never was very clear what it was from...). But if you were going to start anywhere, I'd recommend Liszt, Leslie Howard recording every single known work for piano, in a great collection. I'm partial to piano music myself, though, :P

Actually, honestly I'm super into classical music right now, after watching Nodame Cantible, :P

A Kind of Blue was the first jazz album I really fell in love with, although I'm more into groove-oriented jazz like the stuff by Rahsaan Roland Kirk.

tmv was sooo good! they played some fantastic new songs and older ones. and the venue was very small- great. :D

There was once an odd little duck, it was alone and would've soon starved to death if it wasn't for DENNIS to save the day!
