aww shit bro folk punk gives me feels on the same level that twinkly emo does. AJJ is awesome btw. if you want some good folk punk then you should check out Paul Baribeau, Ghost mice, and if you like a more emo approach, try 'sledding with tigers', and Our Sunday affairs.

Hehe, that's so nice of you to say. But I wouldn't bank on it; I'm only on like, four of those albums. But yeah, fuck yeah for staying optimistically unemployed!

I've listened to Channel Orange a couple times before, and I'm sad to report I'm not as crazy over it as others are. I like the sort of "theme song" qualities of Fertilizer and Pyramids is freaking awesome. There are no major faults I see in it; it just didn't click well : \

YES. I absolutely love it. First three tracks (idgaf, i think "Take a Walk" is radical") and "Mirrored Sea," "Hideaway," and the last two songs are just. I just think it's just excellent. Addicted since it came out, and it's probably one of my favorites this year.

Oh my gawd, I totally forgot to get back to you regarding Last Dinosaurs. From what I recall, I liked that sample so bring it on whenever you can. Have you listened to Gossamer yet? I think it's pretty decadent and I love it.

tastes good, man. as for Belieb, it's not offensively bad, but it isn't very good beyond two or three songs maybe. one song has prevalent dubstep influence, but it's not like a full-out bass drop, but rather some really light background wobs. one song dares to go bossa nova, but more-so in the Jason Mraz sense, and another is kind of a Bruno Mars-esque thing. i didn't expect this much genre-hopping, for sure, but it makes no new, interesting strides or experiments; instead, it's more akin to "costume-changes," y'know? Worth the download: No, but isn't a flat out disaster.

Solid! Sleepyhead, pt 2 in a way, but not a complaint by any means. As for Take a Walk, it certainly isn't their best output, but it's grown on me over time. Still hoping it's the worst track on the album though.

hahaha, yeah. the experience definitely varies by person, but I actually don't think Animal is all that bad. certainly one of those things you can really enjoy if you don't take it seriously. but you won't find any perspective-shifting, ultimately redeeming material here and, in fact, some of it is downright cringe-worthy even for myself ("Dancing with Tear in My Eyes" and "Dinosaur," namely). But for big, dumb fun-core, it's not as horrendous as it's made out to be.

It's fun to save weird random pictures, I have a lot of them. Not many are rule 34 though.

FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME, but no. This guy who totally loves them recommended I listen to one of their albums, and I was like, 'I've never listened to a single album of theirs.' He then told me about all of the ones I had to listen to--ie, all of their albums. So that's what I did: one album each day of the week. Kind of lost momentum on getting to their last one, but I'll get around to it. I wasn't really into any of them, but at least I gave them a chance, found out what their music sounds like, and got to have a nice conversation about them with that guy.

I meant to get back to you sooner, lol, sorry. But yeah, it's been an interesting experience. Folk-metal especially has some neat things going on in it. I've yet to listen to anything that made me go, like, THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER OMG, so yeah, just carrying on with it. Also, nice, Borrowed Beams of Light was kinda spiffy last time I heard them.

but yeah, i was. this past week has been about exploring METAL, mostly 80s death and folk. It's an interesting exercise in horizon expansion, I suppose.

oh, yeah. "The First Single" was my introductory track to them. I picked up Dog Problems once before, but the uploader was a doofus and the transition between tracks was cut abruptly. i promptly threw that shit out the window.
