Yes! I always say if I ended up broke or homeless, my last dollar is going to LastFM Pro. I’m wouldn’t know how to listen to music without it now. My tastes went in reverse, from “modern” era artists to venturing into what influenced them, and on and on. Every Merle song is like him telling a story to me, and I live in Vegas, which is “Sinatra’s Town” so his music is perfect for those late nights. Gotta love our “mutual artists” with Merle, Waylon… and Huey Lewis & The News. I can almost feel the 80s again every time I listen to Huey.

Hahaha, I am JUST the same! It's become a horrible addiction over the years! 😂 Yeah, Merle just has such a cadence and emotion in his voice which lays such a strong foundation for his songs. And Frank... He's just the best. My main man no matter what! Huey Lewis is just so fun and optimistic. I LOVE them!! 😃 I would love it if you could give me some pointers to some of Waylon's albums. All I have is a greatest hits.

there's this thread on reddit where you look at someone's artists, find the artists with 1 play count, and recommend the best from the list. mine has to be the village people, i unironically really like them lol. in the navy is goated. and the offspring!! whaaaatt! only one scrobble is criminal. i've recently been listening to their music more so now but i listened to them the most in 2021 (enough to still be on my top 8 artists). the ramones, the strokes, trisha yearwood, smashing pumpkins, RATM, ricky martin, wow theres just so many that i love

That's a fun idea. Let me see which of mine I am surprised that I only have one scrobble first, and then I'll check out yours... Bloodhound Gang (I would have thought that "Bad Touch" song would get a couple scrobbles over the years)... Evanescence (surprising I didn't scrobble them back when I'd listen to Lacuna Coil)... Fiona Apple... Hanoi Rocks... Kendrick Lamar... Lana Del Rey (both her and Kendrick Lamar out of curiosity I thought I'd scrobble more by now)... Lee Greenwood (weird, especially since he's country and has that song)... Los Del Rio (MACARENA!)... Methods Of Mayhem (when Tommy Lee pretended to be a rap-rocker with that "Get Naked" song)... Right Said Fred (surprised I didn't scrobble "I'm Too Sexy" at least twice)... Ryan Bingham (VERY SURPRISED he only has one scrobble; that'll likely change soon when I figure out which category / playlist to put him on)... Shotgun Messiah... Slipknot... Trisha Yearwood... Trixter.

I wonder why last.fm didn't show your name under "listeners you know" section. Some of my favorites from them are "Break up with him", "Hotel Key", "Coming Home", "Snapback", and "Written in the Sand"... I don't see them on your charts if you're looking for somewhere to start. "On A Boat That Day" is such a fun one though.

HELL YES! I checked out your pages. That's awesome stuff, especially the Route 66 trip. Did you go underground at Grand Canyon Caverns? That's on my list. As for the tunes, Lakeview... Gavin Adcock... Treaty Oak Revival... your 2026 is pretty much everything I've been listening to recently. I'm pretty much all country / rock now, especially that southern rock(?) sound lately... Lakeview, The Cadillac Three, Whiskey Myers, Koe Wetzel, Pecos & The Rooftops, Whitey Morgan and the 78's, Dallas Moore, The Washboard Union, Warren Zeiders, 49 Winchester, Giovannie and the Hired Guns.

I didn't get to go into the caverns but we stopped there. I would like to plan another trip and go back and hopefully go down there. It's the centennial for Route 66 this year! :) My music tastes can jump all over the place if I'm honest, but I've also really enjoyed the tracks that I keep playing this year. Lakeview has such a good sound. I seem to also like that "bro" country that people like to hate on, but it's fun to me lol.

You could take Route 66 all the way to Williams... visit Bearizona (drive-thru wildlife park), Canyon Coaster Adventure Park, and even take a train into Grand Canyon Village if you want to. So much great food in Williams too. I LOVE BRO COUNTRY! Counting down the days until Florida Georgia Line gets back together. :)

I had to check who my Top 2 were for a second! Jason Aldean is my most played of all-time with over 10,000 scrobbles! I took a break from Morgan Wallen for a couple months after his album just because everything was everywhere, but now I can’t stop playing it again after letting it settle and watching some fun reaction videos to songs that got overlooked. I’m cranking more FGL lately, so they’ll probably be in the Top 2 soon at this pace. I love the Sun Daze video… fun, happy songs.

Good to hear about the song at least, it's a good one. I didnt realize St. George was 30 minutes from the state line 🤦♀️ It's St. George, I just had 2 hours from Vegas in my mind and got it mixed up lol. I'm studying accounting but I also joined the ROTC program (not contracted, just a class) so it's been a crazy start to the semester

Cool, St. George is nice, but it's the complete opposite of Vegas in all ways. I don't think there are any bars or alcohol there. I read that it's the #1 city that people who leave Vegas relocate to, and it would make sense since it's nothing like it, but it's a beautiful/outdoors city, and I swear it is always growing and under construction.

Your last 90 days looks good -- a nice combination of new country artists and established stars. I love Jon Pardi's new album Honkytonk Hollywood, Dylan Scott's new album Easy Does It (as you can see by my most-played track over the past 90 days), Chris Janson's 2023 album The Outlaw Side of Me, and Travis Denning's 2024 album Denning Roads That Go Nowhere (especially the song "Strawberry Wine And A Cheap Six Pack")... along with a bunch of other individual songs. Just feels like an awesome 'country summer' coming up -- even though I live in Downtown Las Vegas!

2024 YEAR END: I scrobbled 48,924 songs in 2024 -- 45% more than 2023 when I scrobbled 33,935. After 2023, I thought there was no way I'd come close to that, but there were a lot of road trips in 2024. My Top 5 artists were Nickelback, Jason Aldean, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and ZZ Top. Top 5 albums were Morgan Wallen "Dangerous: The Double Album", Jason Aldean "9", "Highway Desperado", and "They Don't Know", and Wallen's "One Thing At A Time". Top 5 songs were Luke Bryan "But I Got A Beer In My Hand", Van Halen "Dance The Night Away", Nickelback "Those Days", Jason Aldean "Tattoos and Tequila", and Nickelback "Dirty Laundry".

Hey, sorry I missed this post when you made it. Notifications are funky on LastFM. There are so many different types of country music that it's still an adventure for me listening to an artist or a song I never did before and being blown away. I'll post my favorite songs lately in my next reply (character limit), but to start out you should pull up the Billboard Charts and start there. A lot of different artists today, obviously some better than others, and you'd at least learn who (or what) you don't like. You can't go wrong starting with outlaw country -- Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, David Allan Coe, Johnny Paycheck, etc. Merle is my favorite; a great quote I read about him illustrating the difference: "Merle Haggard lived the life Johnny Cash only sang about." But I have love for them all, and have "Get Rhythm" (Cash song) tattooed on my right hand. I use Apple Music, and I have to say I'm a fan of their curated playlists depending on your mood.

As for favorite country songs, I went with LastFM for my top ones over the last year. These artists come from all different eras, so this is a random sampling. Maybe you'll love one of the artists/sounds, maybe you will not. Another great feature is honestly LastFM. Find a song you like, and then check out the "similar songs" on the LastFM song page. Swear to god, whatever algorithm they use, a lot of times I'm like "yeah I dig these too". Here are my most-played over the past year:

Jason Aldean "Tattoos and Tequila", "The Way A Night Should Feel" and "I Use What I Got"... Koe Wetzel "Better Without You"... Brantley Gilbert "Son Of The Dirty South" and "Rolex On A Redneck"... Luke Bryan "But I Got A Beer In My Hand"... Scotty McCreery "Five More Minutes"... Joe Diffie "John Deere Green"... Morgan Wallen (way too many to mention, but 7 Summers is the 'gateway drug' to country music)... Monster Truck "Country Livin'"... Charlie Daniels Band "Me And The Boys" & "What This World Needs Is A Few More Rednecks"... Parker McCollum "Burn It Down" and "Wheel"... Florida Georgia Line "Round Here" and "Anything Goes"... Confederate Railroad "Trashy Women" and "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind"... Merle Haggard "I'd Trade All Of My Tomorrows", "Sing A Sad Song", "I Think I'm Gonna Live Forever", "Colorado", "If We Make It Through December"... Travis Tritt "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" and "It's A Great Day To Be Alive". So many more gems, like every genre. You'll find something you dig.

Of those three artists, it looks like you've only scrobbled one song by Jason Aldean -- "Try That In A Small Town". I'd start there with his new album and work backwards. Always loved his country/rock sound on his last 4 records. Play the new album from start to finish and see what you think. Otherwise LastFM is killer at recs. Look for any artist or song you like, and then look at the similar artists/songs on their pages. It's pretty accurate since that's what most people listen to that also like that artist. I've discovered a lot of "new" (or new/old) music that way.

LOL, sometimes I have those musical moods where it doesn't have to match what I listen to the most. Even though I only eat pizza and fast food in my daily life, when my friends come to visit Las Vegas, I gladly will take them (and eat) whatever they like. Thank you for the suggestion! WOW... I admit the idea of what I had K-Pop in my mind wasn't what this song is. She(?) or they(?) have really good vocals like you said! I actually listened to the song twice to make sure I didn't miss anything, and wow, each band member apparently has their own LastFM page too. Are they the "biggest" K-Pop band?

They do have their own Last.fm profiles for their solo projects, but they are definitely more popular as a group! I wouldn't say they are the biggest K-pop band but they definitely are very popular in South Korea. An interesting fact is that 4 out of 5 of the members actually went and preformed in North Korea for a campaign of cultural diplomacy. In my understanding they are a very respected group in South Korea! And I'm glad you liked the song!!
