yeah i have, it's great! lamplighter's production is incredible of course and so is scissortongue on the mic but i really hope he doesn't rap like this forever, you know? there's been a noticeable difference in his delivery and just his tone in general since BLNL and i hope it's just something he's doing at the moment and not because he feels that he's perfected his sound because as much as i love the somber, atmospheric shit i'd like to hear more stuff similar to his verse on pipe smoke with jam baxter from time to time. between this, four owls, jam baxter's album, and planet cattele all being released in the last 6 months i'd say that high focus is really on a roll right now. plus mr key's album is finally gonna drop in a few days, really looking forward to that.

yesssss man, gotta love the emails bandcamp sends when new music gets released, haha. it's dope though! that verb t verse in particular, damn. you can tell they were all trying to outdo each other on that one, but can you blame them? i'm kinda pissed though.. i pre-ordered the album on bandcamp but i can't download that track, i would have to buy it again seperately. don't know why it's not included with the pre-order.

word, i'll have to look into it more. the track you linked was alright but didn't really blow me away. that's been my general experience with grime in general. the change up at 3:40 was dope though, god damn. i'll check out some more of his stuff and the other artists you mentioned, thanks for the recs.

yeah scissortongue's one of the best lyricists out there imo. i'm a sucker for that darker apocalyptic kind of imagery though, and he does it SO well. he's got the perfect voice for it as well and like you said the production is always on point. jam baxter is probably a close second though but that's because to me he's like scissortongue but more raw and less poetic. i love hearing those two together on a track, "pipe smoke" will forever be the jam. "grammer sicker than a back alley dentist smashing out your teeth with a rusty hammer". that track you linked was dope though, didn't really get a RTJ vibe from it though. yeah i was never really into grime, never heard much of it that caught my ear really, maybe a few tracks here and there.

i love how all the high focus artists bring something different to the table but none of them really sound out of place. ed scissortongue is my favorite though, that dude is fucking incredible. that sucks though dude, i'd love to see them live. i actually heard EP #2040 already by strange u, it was pretty good. falcon punch is my shit. i know they've got another ep out too but i haven't listened yet. i wish uk hip hop was more popular here, i try to put people onto it but no one really wants to listen or they just get immediately turned off by the accent. whatever, it's their loss lol.

yeah i actually really love uk hip hop, i don't know EVERY uk hip hop artist out there but m9, cyrus malachi, ed scissortongue, flixtrip, verb t, jam baxter, leaf dog, mr. key, contact play, four owls, brothers of the stone, ramson badbonez, rhyme asylum, jehst, lewis parker, foreign beggars, roots manuva, and kashmere are some of my favorites. i'm a huge high focus/triple darkness fan though, i really fuck with those two crews. high focus might as well be the UK version of the def jux label lol.
