Love the Mr. Six avatar! (I use Barbelith as my avatar on another site)

When we walked to the Cellar a couple of weeks ago, I told you about the track I wrote and recorded when my friend was having a pee, during a recording session in a Japanese forest. It's part of the album linked below. The track that took on a life of its own is "Time to Say Goodbye". I like the sound of the cicadas. Hence the sentence, 'talented musicians playing their instruments AS THOUGH they'd never seen them before'. Naivist (ism) is the name those musicians give their 'movement'. None of them are naive at all, as you've astutely noted. Yes, Calculism (or somesuch) would suit far better!

By the way, thanks for having a listen. Some of the Grizzly stuff is wilfully obtuse, intended really for the small bunch of weirds I used to hang around with in Japan. There's a kind of 'naive' movement in Japan at the moment, that we found favour with. It basically involves talented musicians playing their instruments as though they'd never seen them before. Maher Shalal Hash Baz are key proponents, and a lot of Grizzly music was made after listening to them a bit too much - our songs 'The Wilds of JB Purvis' and 'The Colonel's Pantry' are basically us attempting to BE Maher Shalal...

It's going to sound like a pathetic excuse, but I'll give it a go... When mixing the last bunch of songs, I was doing the playback on my mac, forgetting that Last.fm was picking it all up. I basically listened to the same set of songs nonstop over a weekend, and then noticed that The Grizzly Folk had jumped into my top 20. Will you believe that?
