Hello. I'm back on www.lastfm at last. Hoping you are there, in good health and enjoying life. You asked about my photographs? Type in Stuart Haden photographer and you should find my black and whites. Have been very busy making collages out of found stuff, writing my mother;s autobiography for her, helping a friend write a book on health and fitness, designing parts of buildings, exploring London and visiting exhibitions.

Hello, you haven't been scrobbling for 4 months :-( Hopefully nothing bad happened, and you'll soon make a comeback ... btw: this is how I found you: lastfm recommended you as friend to me (in its friend finder app). Since we've 8 mutual friends AND at least these artists in common (1), I'd appreciate it when you accept my friend request also...

Hi, could you help find a link for Curtis Fullers's discography? It would really mean a lot.

Hi, thanks for contacting me. I do listen to all kinds of music. I tend to go on sprees of one kind of music but I always listen to Jazz in the evenings. My favorites area Sidney Bechet, Ben Webster, PeeWee Russell, Johnny Hodges, Dave Brubeck, Art Pepper, Paul Desmond, Charley Parker Dizzy Gillespie, Artie Shaw and Louis Armstrong. Wonder if you've ever read The History of Jazz by Ted Gioia? Anyway, happy listening!

Did you catch the most recent 2014 NEA Jazzmaster Awards? It's not up yet on their website http://arts.gov/ but for me it was interesting to hear Anthony Braxton give an explanation about his life's work, and there was a very lovely dedication by Kenny Baron and Jimmy Owens...great source of insights into these legends...

I do love Ornette, if his 'Free Jazz' album, or it's precursor 'Twins' are too out there for your tastes, try 'Change of the Century', 'The Shape of Jazz to Come' or 'This Is Our Music'. Quite a lot of his music has no piano which gives it a kind of space and freedom. Happy listening!

Oh, I've been hearing quite a lot of the newer groups, some of which can get a bit noisy at times, but often humorously too. Typically they have no harmony instrument, so they tend to be a couple of horns with bass and drums. At the moment I really like Mostly other People Do The Killing, and Gallo and the Roosters, also been delving more deeply and widely into the stange world of Sun Ra and his various Arkestras. Also listening to a lot more by the likes of Sam Rivers, Jackie McLean and Sonny Rollins - it took me a little while to get just how good he is. Also Oliver Nelson's "Blues and the Abstract Truth", Plus still going to see a lot of British players who probably don't get much exposure outside the UK. Also enjoying piano trios a lot more too... there's just so much out there, I need to live to be 220 to hear it all!
