Nice, you have got to already the ">16600 artists scrobbled" event :-) ... I saw you in the "Discovery Leaderboard" section (July 24-30), you are at #2 place there (I am in the Scrobble LB): last DOT fm/user/jordluftildvand/listening-report/week ... How's life on your location of the Earth right now? I assume you as well avoid public crowds recently in these COVID-19 virus times, same as us here in the German side of the EU ... Stay safe - and enjoy the tracks - and further activities - in the meantime

It's little wonder, because even though I prefer to listen to full releases (albums / EPs) by artists, I actively seek out artists I haven't listened to (sometimes based on country of origin, sometimes based on instruments or lyrical theme) to the point where I'll decide I won't listen to an album I have in my physical collection because I had just recently listened to it, favouring something (old) new instead. I guess I'm doing somewhat alright. Since concerts rarely take place now (though there has been a surge in virtual concerts), I'm throwing money at artists in more immediate ways now. They have to make a living somehow.

It's good to hear you are fine, we are too. Let's hope it stays like that ... re: supporting artists: Have you read about the bandcamp waivers? They do this now regularly. It's a nice way to support them/us ... I also do something similar, I make a musical agenda for 3 days, usually. Even if something comes in between, I can still listen to a few new artists, otherwise I notice the behaviour to get "lazy" and listen favourite songs more. In this lockdown I have noticed this in my music habbit: I have increased classical/instrumental plays. I wish you a great music Friday, right now listening some jazz and l8 my "Release Radar" playlist on spotify. What's on your musical agenda for today?

Hi right back at you, Leah. I'm not good at writing myself so here's something ripped from lyrics: "Hello, how are you? […] I hope that you're well."¹ "Can you picture what will be? […] There's danger on the edge of town"² "I'm just sittin' […] Wastin' time […] Look like nothing's gonna change Everything still remains the same"³ "Comfortable (not drinking too much) Regular exercise […] (3 days a week) […] Eating well […] Now self-employed […] Less chance of illness […] Still cries at a good film"⁴ "I turn to my computer And spend my evenings with it Like a friend"⁵ "If you […] make it […] we could be just fine"⁶ ¹'Hello' by Adele (2015) ²'The End' by The Doors (1967) ³'(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay' by Otis Redding (1967) ⁴'Fitter, Happier' by Radiohead (1997) ⁵'Deeper Understanding' by Kate Bush (1989) ⁶'Wannabe' by Spice Girls (1995)

I am also not good at writing myself, sometimes it is hard to express myself. I just wanted to let you know that I really like that you explore more musical genres.

You should try her second solo album Benedicte Maurseth (2019), it was great in my opinion. Thanks for the recommendations, I will try them when I will have time.

We will be super soon. Did you liked what I was listening to? Some of the artists I didn't like, some were ok, a few were good. Most of my recent listening are from bandcamp.

I particularly liked the Künzel, Lúnasa and Rowsome albums. I'd listen to more like that if searching for folk on bandcamp wouldn't yield indie folk instead all the time though it's okay occasionally. I've found a great deal of artists by looking at old entries in your library (and those of other users) and listening to similar artists if I could not find those.

Hi, yes it's me, you can call me Leah. With all the changes I stayed, I started using it last year. It's also nice to see you're still here as well ;) it's very quiet here without the groups, it was fun even with all the problems back then.

What exactly is this sigil? It looks like an alien Christmas tree rune mixed with a heptagram.

"Alien" isn't that far off. It is the Lovecraftian Elder Sign (including the names of some of the Old Ones) in a heptagram (and at the moment I can't recall why) overlaying Buddy Jesus (from the 1999 film Dogma) with his face replaced with a (highly inaccurate) drawing of Great Old One Cthulhu with googly eyes.

Feeling creative, aren't we? As much as I respect Lovecraft, reading someone writing "the Old Ones" in all seriousness kinda makes me chuckle. And that Jesus reminds me of the Jesus from the last scene of Orgazmo. Apart obscure novelists, are you into occultism or esoterism of the sort?
Actions
-
Iezuz
Nah, just the playful, joking occultism and esoterism that alludes to pop culture and early 19th to early 20th century writers like Hoffmann, Poe, Lovecraft (in that order). I think religious texts and horror fantasy novels both make for an interesting read. And I like photo manipulation. …………………………………… Do you perchance wish to become a Discordian Pope?

Ah, I see you're participating as well. I don't know if you're following the betarefuge thread, but I try to choose albums that at least have some black metal features. Anyway, my sister put that on. I was shopping all day (apples [didn't buy any], blood, Der Weg einer Freiheit, an electric piano and got my hair done) and did not seize the stereo right away. I guess blackgaze is is the most family-friendly subsubgenre in the black metal subgenre, isn't it?

Yeah i suppose blackgaze is the family's black metal. bonus points if it's instrumental. families don't like all the screaming. Oh BTW, The new Der Weg einer Freiheit album is pretty damn good if you ask me. They are putting one solid release after another.
