Old Town Road is catchy. The Nine Inch Nails foundational track doesn’t hurt.

Du musst Dir aus dem Bohlenhörbuch mal "Pur - mit Hartmut nackt im Pool" und "Stefan Raab - Deutschlands heimlichster Millionär" anhören. Richtig gut!

I see that you also love Bob Dylan and some metal. Have you had the pleasure of catching Bob Dylan in concert recently?

Your musical compatibility with HighDescendant is LOW. Music you have in common includes Rise Against, Miley Cyrus, Ensiferum, Taylor Swift and Sido. --- Meh. Und Miley ist ja mal megakacke geworden...

"I love how it's called 'back yard' session implying it's raw and unplugged yet the actual recording we hear is a heavy studio production. Fucking label whores."

Hmm interesting. I've listened to Under the Sign of the Black Mark a few times but never really saw much there. Maybe some day soon I'll check out the first two and see if there is anything there. Interesting similarities I thought of between both Dylan and Bathory are that both have a very strange singing style that many would say is just bad singing, but it obviously fits with what they are doing. Also I find that I can't always just throw one of them on and listen, there has to be a certain mood for it. I recently friend my hard drive and don't have the money to try and recover data so I've lost a lot of my music (hoping to get it back eventually). For now, I'm using the opportunity to discover new music either by artists I've never listened to before, or those I've listened to very little. Mostly from last.fm recommendations, but your list makes me think I should look into Equilibrium a little closer. I've only listened to Sagas before. Any album suggestions for them?

What do you mean? Like how did I get it there? Just find an image, copy the URL into the 'About me' box like this:

Thanks for the friend request. I see you are a fan of viking Bathory as evidenced by the top tracks. I'm a big fan of Hammerheart and Twilight of the Gods, but I never did get into any of his black metal or thrash. Do you stick only to viking Bathory?

Alternately, you can skip the Beatles altogether and go straight to Paul McCartney's Ram, which for my money is the best thing any of the four of them ever did, alone or together. THAT one's in my top 5.

Cool, I'll look into it! As for the Beatles, you can't go wrong with Abbey Road. For a long time I felt like you did, very confused by their popularity, but about two years ago I listened to Abbey Road a few times through and was sold. I still think it's by far their best record, and in my personal top 10 by anyone!

Thanks! Looks like I should check out The Tallest Man on Earth, huh? Which album?

That's very interesting. I only speak English which I think is a shame - I've tried learning a few languages and they just don't stick. I just don't have the mind for it. My Dad tried to learn German when he was young so he could speak to his father, who was German and whose English was quite broken. He had a very heavy Sachsen accent. I've read Nietzsche in English and that's damned hard to follow, mostly because of when it was written rather than it being translated, I'd say.

I wonder what that would be like, reading Beat literature in another language. Does it change the flow? Like, whenever I read Kerouac, I read it in Kerouac's voice, unintentionally, but I can hear that sweet, mumbly voice in my head. If you hear him read his own work, it's like there's pure Jazz contained in the words, there's a certain rhythm - "it's be-at, the beat to keep". How does that translate into German? Does it take on a different rhythm and character?

Don't forget Huncke and Ferlinghetti! Aye, it is knockout stuff. I don't think I could ever tire of Kerouac's spontaneous prose. There's a certain weightyness in his words that takes you by surprise even when you know it's coming.

I love Ginsberg - always glad to meat another fan of the Beats! I discovered Ginsberg through Abbie Hoffman and the Yippies. It doesn't say on your page, but I assume you are German, correct? Freut mich, dich kennenzulernen.

Hab ich kurz nach deinem Kommentar dann auch gemacht... Was hast du denn in den letzten Stunden für untypische Musik gehört? Und warum hast du durchgemacht? Und warum liegt hier überhaupt Stroh?
