I want to incorporate more violin into my music, and I also want to see what would happen if I used my violin bow on, say, a nylon-stringed guitar, or ukulele, even. It does seem that we have a similar way of writing music, but lately, I've been on a bit of a writing binge. I need to record so I don't forget it! And yes, I'm not too far from Lancaster! There are usually some pretty good acts that go there. And sweet, we'll have to arrange a jam sesh when I'm down there. Your little sister is very cool, I have wanted to play the saxophone since I was a little kid. But I do love the violin, it's been a love of nine years. And check out Nataly's new project, it's called My Terrible Friend. She did recordings and made video songs with Julia Nunes' best friend, Lauren O'Connell. In one of the videos, Lauren uses a violin bow on a banjo. THAT is badassery. And assure you, my music is far from good. I wish I could write lyrics and music together, but I always write either lyrics or music first, and then have to take a step back from it for a while before I do the corresponding half. I need to record more of my original music. I'm from Downingtown, PA, which is about an hour West of Philly. I'm actually going to be looking at UMBC soon, where do you go to school?

Oh boy, you are incredibly fortunate. And you must have been rocking really hard, it's not quite the same, but I feel like a bit of a bad ass when I play my uke through the amp. Ah! Noah and the Whale are one of my favorite bands. I actually learned to play that song in chords on my violin and recorded it out in the hallway at school one day, just messing around with Garage Band. I like that you can hear people walking in the background of the recording. Aw, that's sweet. It's grown out a bit, but actually, hers has too. It's odd to see her with longer hair, but I like it! And trust me, my music is nowhere near the caliber of that song (referring to "Our Hands Together"). I wish I was better at piano, I can only play a handful of songs, most of which are what I wrote. After hearing your song, it makes me feel out of the running to collaborate with you, but I think that Grapefruit will be some good times. What area are you from?

You may be one of the luckiest people I know, to have seen both. I have seen neither, and would very much like to change that. Both need to add more tour dates. I'm glad that you have come to realize the fun and lighthearted nature that is the ukulele. I just got one for Christmas this past year, and just recently bought a new one (that has an active pickup, what's up, Mr. Amp?) I'm afraid to guess what the first song you learned was, I don't want to guess incorrectly! SOO GLAD you love Pomplamoose! They are absolute geniuses. And I must admit, I have a little bit of a big fat girl crush on Nataly Dawn. I cut my hair like hers a few months ago. I think that a Pomplamoose-like collaboration between us would be an EXCELLENT thing. Why are we exactly the same?! I'm going to make a new channel for music when I start making video songs, as well. I wish I knew how to use Windows Movie Maker, or something of the like. And what's your Youtube channel? I'll listen to them!

John Darnielle has the power to strip me of my defenses completely. I'm also rather in love with his sense of humor. And the same goes for AJJ. I love their sense of...offensiveness. They can both make me laugh and really think. "We Didn't Come Here to Rock" is easily my favorite. I'm glad to hear (literally) that you play ukulele! Guy ukulele players a bit more rare. And if you like females who play ukulele, look up Julia Nunes. You will not regret it.

I went to a performance this past November, in Boston. It was easily the best concert I've ever been to, and you're right, his descriptions, and 'small talk' in between songs is great.

mm, The Sunset Tree is probably my second favorite. He's such a great song writer, I honestly don't hear many lyrics that are as complicated as his, but still eloquent. Have you ever seen them perform?
