Harry !!! Really nice to get a message from you. :) Hope you are doing well. Yes, I visit the Chemikal website from time to time, and I have seen how enthusiastically the team there speak about The Unwinding Hours. I have been meaning to check them out, and will certainly do so very soon. Thanks for the timely reminder !!! Take care, matey...

Hi, In the spirit of Lastfm and discovering new music I’d be really grateful if you have the time to Listen to a couple of Turning Plates tracks and let me know what you think! Since I’m a complete random feel free to express your true opinion and any criticism will be taken as constructive! There will be no (or at least little) hunting down as an act of vengeance! :-) Thanks, Duncan

years ago i read the NME's review of '5 die filming this lazy lark,' and i ran out and bought it. been hooked since. 'barbara / fading photo' is the perfect song, and those lyrics are stunning.

Yeah - she's gorgeous...whoop !! Not that it makes any difference to me. *snigger* Thanks for the JAMC advice. I was looking to find the "21 Singles" LP, but will probably have to take what I can get. I got a $30 voucher for my b-day, but may struggle to locate anything by them in the prescribed chain store !! I'm sure to find something I like though. Thanks for the We Were Promised Jetpacks recommendation - funnily enough I had already started my own research, and was listening to that very track when you recco came through !! :D They sound great - maybe I'll buy them with my voucher !! Cheers, H.

Assuming "We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbits" is not the name of a band...no, I have not discovered the first one and yes, I have discovered the second one (thanks to you !!). Still need to get caught up on your Prolapse recommendation, and am having a hankering lately to learn more about The Jesus and Mary Chain, for some reason. And on a slightly related subject, because I saw a video of her singing with The JAMC, I've fallen for Hope Sandoval/Mazzy Star. Is that wrong? Yours sentimentally...

http://www.last.fm/event/962136 RED ORANGE presents the UK premiere of BAKIRINOSU [Osaka, Japan] Fed by diverse influences, the twin voices of Bakirinosu have their roots in popular Japanese music and travel, a cappella, along melodic lines that evoke both European folklore and the sound of unknown threnody, from further away. An eclecticism that is full of sap, autodidact and non-complex, thus proving that originality does not have to be technical. Part of Osaka’s art scene, Ras and Gaki collaborated on rock projects before testing out a more daring formula based on song. Far from the media circus of Tokyo, Bakirinosu is a young group, whose candour is captivating and whose voices are beautifully simple, spontaneous and tranquil, oscillating between ethnic breathlessness and poetic nursery rhymes. Book now at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/45498

Electrelane radio sessions?? Yes, please !!! :D Oh, curse the misfortune that consigns me to continually discover bands I love after they no longer exist !! I'm afraid to check if they ever toured downunder. Some bands never do, you know !! ;-) Will probably be going to see Stereolab next month with Kirsty and Mr Kirsty - that should be good . Bestest to you and yours !!

*blushes* It was "a dour Scotsman with impeccable musical taste". Dour does mean handsome, doesn't it? How are you, Mr D? Sorry I have been out of touch. I hope things are going well with you and that you have a smashing Christmas. Must hop over on my moonhopper and check out Frightened Rabbit. Currently I am loving, loving, loving Electrelane's No Shouts No Calls !!! :D

hate you.... :-} Seriously, have a blast! I can see you are a music fiend, therefore, you deserve to see them however many times your finances will allow. You like Chameleons... check out gig Mark Burgess did with The SUn and the Moon in Atlanta recently. Sorry about the shaking at the beginning - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaP2ip9SC68

I did not get to see The Wedding Present here, and it looks like I won't see them in London either. My plans to visit London are unraveling. :-( You will see them twice? Do you like to take videos? If so, take lots!
