Looks like all the libraries are back now. The movie itself was awesome, but I just kept going back to that soundtrack. Well, if you do ever try, you might want to go with Pharaoh Sanders' Karma. It's personally one of my top five albums. It's one 33 minute piece followed by a 6 minute coda of sorts. Very good stuff, and it doesn't get into the free jazz cliche of seemingly meaningless noise. It's also got a soul singer on it too, with some pretty lush orchestration.

Thanks man. I saw the movie in theaters and kept getting lost in the soundtrack to it. I'd be listening to it for a couple minutes, then realize that I was supposed to be watching a movie. It's even better by itself, which is kind of surprising. Profile pic is just some OC I made on Netflix when I saw how absurdly awesome the scene was. Doesn't hurt that I actually like "free form jazz" now.

Ah then it must be said that "All About Lily Chou Chou" is similar to "The Wrestler". So much raw emotion. And tell me how Amelie goes! The Wrestler? I'll give it a go :) And I remember now, Aronofsky directed that new one coming out, "Black Swan", right? For Jean-Pierre Jeunet, you can't go wrong with Amelie. Audrey Tatou is fantastic in it. The City of Lost Children is sort of related to Amelie stylistically (if you watch both you'll see why) and has this fantastic dystopian feel to it. And I strongly suggest "All About Lily Chou Chou", a Japanese film which is a bit of a weeper but it's shot really well. Wish I could get into some movie watching tonight but I have exams... argh.

Aronofsky directed Requiem for a Dream, right? Great movie, that. And yes, Dr Strangelove is pretty fantastic in my books, and Kubrick is one of my favourite directors. Are you into any foreign films? I like the Jean-Pierre Jeunet's quirky style (Amelie, Delicatessen) although he's definitely no Kubrick.

electronica is such a broad genre, and "experimental" as a term is becoming almost meaningless, so it's hard to know what exactly you're looking for. i recommend listening to Björk, specifically the Vespertine album. this album was one of the first electronic albums i went crazy over. similarly, múm's Finally We Are No One album is an oldie-but-goodie. if you are looking for something heavier, Aphex Twin (Come to Daddy EP, or Richard D. James Album are good starters) or Venetian Snares (Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding) might suit you better. these are all things that should help you get started. hope this helps.

You should probably start with All That Remains - The Fall Of Ideals. That's what got me started.
