I was in Beijing for the Olympics so I'm not sure I saw the "real" city. But I thought the city was beautiful and the food was incredible. I definitely want to see more of China.

I have been to several Asian countries. I have been to China (Beijing), Japan (Tokyo, Hiroshima, Narita), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and a few other cities), Cambodia (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap), Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia (Jakarta, Ubud and several other places in Bali), and Papua New Guinea (Port Moresby, Wewak, Mount Hagen, Madang, Western Highlands). I really want to go to Iran and both Koreas, but I'm waiting to see how the current political tension ends...

The first few times I saw FF was in the US. I was born in the UK but when I was young I also lived in Paris, Rome, Firenze and then mostly in Los Angeles. I went to schools and universities in California and moved back to London 2 years ago. My mum is British and my dad is American and was working for the US Foreign Service Office when I was born--so I have dual citizenship with the UK and US.

I've been listening to Franz Ferdinand for years its seems. I've seen them in concert a half dozen times. I used to comb through the bins at Camden Lock to find bootlegs and live recordings of them. Are they popular in China?

First, I've been scrobbling for 7 years on last.fm. And then, I have music playing constantly on my iPad, my iPod, my phone and/or my computer. last.fm won't let me grow past 1 million (they reset my scrobbles back to 1 million each night). I have another site, Stryder2011, which has somewhere around 350,000 more scrobbles. And, yes, I saw the Franz Ferdinand avatar and sent you the friend request.

我觉得新专除了panic station和supremacy以及chris的两首歌外都好正常= = survival和么么么出了后我蛮以为新专会像does it offend you, yeah那样劲爆的。。。略有失望。。。

I hope you can go to not only DCFC's gig but also Pendulum's gig, at least you can get their autograph! Generally I think there's no after parties in Japan, so I have heard the name but I don't know the detail haha. By the way, I went the rock festival called "Countdown Japan". All line-ups are composed by Japanese musician, so I think there's little bands you know. It held at Makuhari Messe, the same hall as venue of Summer Sonic. (but in addition to this, SS is held at the Baseball Stadium as a main stage.) Countdown Japan is so-so, but next Summer Sonic must be better than this! And I found Franz Ferdinand is confirmed to Spanish festival. It means there is possibility they will come to Japan too! I'm not sure which festival they will come to, but you can hope to see them!

I don't listen to old bands' songs so much too because there's little possibility to see their gigs! As you said, SS of this year will take place little later. And it's not announced so but there's possibility to held another festival called "Sonic Mania" the previous day's night of SS. Line-ups of that of last year are Underworld, Primal Scream, Vitalic and so on. Line-ups are really good but it's little hard because that's all-night event and I went SS of the next day. If Sonic Mania is announced, you should consider whether to go that or not too! I hope you can go to SS and have a good time! And I hope the line-up of SS will let us down too haha. In Summer Sonic, some bands have autograph sessions officially, so you can get autograph there. But except for that bands, I think it's too hard to get bands' autograph unofficially. But I'm not sure how hard to get autograph here because I don't collect that. I only have a band called MuteMath's drum stick hehe.

I went only first day of last Summer Sonic. I see The Mars Volta, Korn, The Horrors and so on. I didn't see Friendly Fires at Summer Sonic, but I went their gig this month. It's amazing. I think that was one of the best live for me this year! If Franz Ferdinand will make Asia tour in Summer, I think they will come to Summer Sonic or Fuji Rock because they have large numbers of fans in Japan and I hope so. haha, I like MC Verse so I want see them with him. He heats up the event! The Stone Roses is confirmed next Fuji Rock. Do you know and like them?

Hey! I go to every Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic from 2008. I'm not sure when the line-up of Summer Sonic is announced, but I think it may be announced by next March. Both festivals are amazing so I recommend you to go both if you have time. Each festival has their own characteristic. Fuji Rock is outdoor event held in Nigata. There is the mountain so we have to prepare so much to go there such as raincoat and camping. It's little too hard but it is said Fuji Rock is the "Festival" like Glastonbury or other Festivals in Europe. Summer Sonic is easier to go than Fuji Rock and it should have random line-up, I mean there is UK/US rock artists, Japanese pop artists and so on. You can check last line-up here, http://www.summersonic.com/2011/lineup/ http://www.fujirockfestival.com/artist/ Is there the artists you like? I haven't listen the Jonas's solo work, so I will listen that later!

>P.S:When checking your profile I was like Σ( °△ °|||).You've seen so many bands. That's also because of the festivals. Once we go there, we can see 20 or 30 artists. You have good taste, you can have a good time if you go there. I have seen Franz Ferdinand once in Tokyo and Mew three times, one is at the festival called Summer Sonic 09, and the other is their headlining show in Tokyo and the other is the show as the opening act for The Flaming Lips in Tokyo. All are very good. I like both but especially Mew. It's little difficult for me to describe their gigs, I mean you must see their gigs when you can have the opportunity. It must be absolutely great for you!

That's amazing to come to Japan for a couple of months. Let's go to see some gigs if there are good shows in Tokyo. In general, there aren't so many gigs in summer time in Japan because there are two big rock festivals called Fuji Rock and Summer sonic and some small festivals. In winter time, many artists come to Japan for their gigs, not for a festival. By the way, so many artists will come to Japan this winter maybe because Japanese currency is very expensive. So I recommend you to go to the festivals if you can. I have been to both so I can tell you about these if you are interested in! If we go to the gigs together, your Japanese ability might support us because I can speak poor English! Oh, I wrote too much, so I will write more later.
