The Strokes have a new york garage rock sound that doesn't sound anything like Oasis, so no influences there. The Velvet Underground formed in 1964 so i don't know what you're talking about when you say they "owe" Oasis. Chris Martin from Coldplay stated in an interview that some of his influences are Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Tom Waits. Oh, and the Flaming Lips. I highly doubt Oasis is a part of that group of influences. Let's see, Elliott Smith debuted at the same time as Oasis and you must be joking when you say Oasis influenced Bloc Party because they hate each other. All I can say about Oasis is that they are trying to be the copy cat

I would recommend all of my loved tracks they're freaking great, timeless and filled with positive energy..have a listen when u have time..u's got some great tracks too..I've been raping (in the nicest possible way) ur stash..I will be back for more.
