Heya... we were talking about favorite albums on M. Ward's page :) I don't know if you remember, but I'd said Post-War, and you said Transfigurations. Coincidentally I acquired Transfigurations not even a week later and I must say... wow. It's mellow and sad, not really what I'm used to from him, but unquestionably a masterpiece. He's truly one of the few musicians I cannot describe.

I actually completely agree with you. I also really enjoy King of Spain, but I guess I can also say that I was not disappointed with The Wild Hunt, it was just not Shallow Graves. The Gardener is certainly my favorite as well and coincidently those are my favorite lines in the song as well.

Glad you enjoyed it! :) The Sea and Cake is a magnificent band - good suggestion! The new Strokes record is pretty good. I definitely prefer their earlier work, but "Taken for a Fool" is a groovy song. I must say, you have excellent taste in music! Modest Mouse and Wilco are two of my all time favorites.

hey! i started with "i believe in your victory" off the young mountain ep. but i think "the mighty rio grande" off their s/t demonstrates everything they're good at; instrumental storytelling, maybe influenced by mccarthy's blood meridian (though i can't be sure).

It's ok, sorry, I listened to your songs and they're actually quite good. I just think going round promoting yourself as sounding like another band kind of undermines the work that's gone into your music in the first place. Hope you get some place with all this, anyway.

hmm, "2 kool 2 be 4-gotten" is my favorite, i guess, but i also value immensely "steal your love" and "mama you sweet". for other songs i like check out my charts or my music blog, http://umamusicatododia.blogspot.com/. a song per day (but i don't update it daily), the writing is in portuguese, but at least you can listen to the songs.

Nice choice, I didn't know that one until recently and fell instantly and deeply in love with it. Strangely enough, I'm pretty wilde about an uncharacteristically mellow and traditionally structured track of theirs called Spit on a Stranger (thanks in part to the great title), as well as their daring covers such as The Killing Moon. That one's on an EP if you've never heard of it. In the Mouth a Desert will prly always be my personal favorite though, timeless.
