Emma, you have unbelievable music taste for a 15 year old. Makes me happy to know that there are people out there who are into the same kinda stuff as I was from that age. Awesome. :D

Precentage thing, install via this link (if you've got Google Chrome or a firefox addon called "Greasemonkey"): http://iso5.net/lastfm/lastfm-compatibility-percentage.user.js Interpol; great, but kind of overrated. I just randomly decided "hmm, I heard about Interpol a few months ago. I think I have one of their albums actually". Good, but I could have been listening to better :P I need to pick up more music. I've had a drought of good music lately... But once my new MP3 player arrives, this might hopefully be resolved (I've spent seven months with an iPod with a broken headphone jack). Got anything I need to put on it when I get it? I'll have to listen to Brandon's album. I like The Killers, but they've been slowly losing it. Hot Fuss was EPIC, Sam's Town was great, Day & Age was good. Hoping his solo's a return to form. finally, not sure if you've heard these TDCC tracks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UXm5JvM0Aw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwGu3FW4-u4

You went to bed around the same time as me last night then :P Morning time, now I can make more sense... Yes, Chicago is the greatest song ever. There's no denying it. No. denying. it. (as an example of my slowness, I have yet to listen to the rest of that album, but do check out "The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts" by Sufjan Stevens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKGx6cTyFso ) And actually, seeing as you like Sufjan, I think you'll like Bon Iver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrMmr1oMPGA&feature=related I haven't been using the "loved tracks" list too much (in fact I should probably make a list of tracks to add to that)... Yes, Florence's songs are all just epic. One of the best things to happen to music last year (Mumford & Sons are another classic piece of 2009 actually) Finally for this post: Ellie Goulding covers Passion Pit (with help from Starsmith), and the results are AMAZING http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLKaD81wcD4

I do have the Two Door Cinema Club acoustics, I love that band. Tourist History is just slowly becoming an option my album of the year... And what a band! (If only they didn't release an album in the same year as Arcade Fire, Broken Bells, Laura Marling or Foals, then it'd be CERTAIN.) I mean, it's just so.. addictive. I can't go through a day without playing "You're Not Stubborn" or "I Can Talk"... Daft Punk... I'd advise you to give their 2007 live album a shot. It's basically made up of mashups of their studio stuff. I made a mix CD a while back. Playlist is on Grooveshark. http://listen.grooveshark.com/playlist/CAILLTE+2010/32945032 I'd say you'd like it. It's got TDCC, Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine (an acoustic version, pretty cool), Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling... Find some new stuff there! Finally, I think you might like Phoenix (similar to TDCC, in fact TDCC did a remix of one of their songs), and this remix of a TDCC song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67nb0k4ZZaA

Hey, I'd point out that my parents usually have pretty damn awful taste in music. I insist that my mother liking Arcade Fire and my father's interest in prog-rock stuff like Pink Floyd are the only exceptions. My father plays annoying country\western in his car, and more often, he just picks up random CDs he finds lying around the house. So at one stage he had a mix of Seasick Steve (AWESOME!), Enrique Inglesias (erm...) and a 90s dance CD (ewwwww...). It's hard to get what you want in that situation. Especially now that my iPod is mostly broken :( (well, it has been for a few months now...) And.. about The Avalanches. If you don't like it after the first three tracks, I don't expect you to like the rest of the album. They have a few mixtapes and stuff you could listen to if you don't like the album stuff, but I doubt it. It's similar to Daft Punk in a way, completely different in others. Maybe another band I throw in the "similar to Daft Punk" section you'll like is Justice...

yeah, I was rather surprised with how my parents agreed so quickly to "Mam, I'm going up to Dublin to stay with a cousin of mine and see a band you've never heard of, it'll cost me a lot of money, you k with that?". But they did. And more recently, Arcade Fire is now my mam's favourite band since I started playing "The Suburbs" on car journeys. That might have helped :P

"Arcade Fire ftw", you say? well, I bought a ticket for their show in the O2 this december, so I totally agree... As for The Avalanches, I made a review of their album here. More importantly however, you can stream it directly from the page (legally of course :D): http://asisaidiwould.blogspot.com/2010/07/music-review-avalanches-since-i-left.html

SUPER COMPATIBILITY! (sorry, I just have to point that out. Great taste.) "Music you have in common includes Two Door Cinema Club, Florence + the Machine, Arcade Fire, Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons." ...four of my five favourite bands right now (The Avalanches aren't there, so...).
