Identity Sequence and Antigravity are the best, I'm still rediscovering some of the songs from those albums after years of listening. It's a nice feeling, to listen to something for 100th time then suddenly feel differently about it, to like it in anther way. And thanks for recommendation, some of the tracks on Capsule Silence are quite decent.

For now, though, I have to agree with you that Wave Runner won't be listenable years from now. That is only because, right now in this time, the modern EDM sound is quickly become stale. If it wasn't for modern pop/rock songs taking advantage of the mediocre bass and trance-like melodies, this would totally be a different situation. I realized this because capsule's older work (phony phonic, NEXUS 2060, Cutie Cienam Replay) are still easily listenable - and that is because the shibuya-kei genre wasn't mass-fed to us like EDM. It's still an enjoyable genre to dabble in. For now, though, we can enjoy Wave Runner until it gets tiring. I do think I can Hero for a long time. It feel like it has some lasting appeal.

It really is hard to question whether or not Wave Runner will be an album that will be played years from now. (Like, how LDK and FC are easily re-playable.) I only say this because despite the modern EDM sound that everyone has come to know by now (Skrillex, Zedd, Cash Cash) only reaching such "fame" the past couple of years, I don't really know if anyone truly knows if such music is indeed re-playable years from now. I've been a deadmau5 fan for roughly 9 years now (and I hate to admit it due to how bad of a reputation he has now) but I even question if any of his music is considered re-playable. Sure, I indulge myself with his music every now and then but is it something I could listen to, say, a decade from now? I don't really think so. It's hard to tell. At the time, his music was different - interesting. He helped me become an electronic musician myself. I shaped a good portion of my music after his.

Hey, I found a super old post of yours on Anamanaguchi's song "John Hughes", and you were asking who John Hughes really is. I wanted to reply that John Hughes was a director and screenwriter for a lot of the greatest classic comedies, including "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "The Breakfast Club," and "Home Alone."

I'm honestly not too familiar with Purity Ring. I seem to remember listening to a song or two of theirs previously and not being terribly impressed by it, but I could of course be remembering wrong. As for the TWEWY soundtracks, I've got both Japanese CDs and I thought the original soundtrack release was better than Subarashiki Kono Sekai + The World Ends With You. The remixes on SKS + TWEWY were usually alright, but mostly I bought it for Déjà vu and Transformation and all those great international version tracks. Wish Square Enix would stop futzing around with iOS ports and just work on the sequel already.

I haven't quite reached Level 99 in Hacking yet, so I don't think I have the proper skill level required to do that. Also, I feel really dumb for not immediately realizing that was a Fight Club reference (it was, right?). But anyways, yeah, JAK is releasing an LP soon. I've talked to him via Facebook a few times, originally it was supposed to be done by last November but he kept getting busy. I'm not sure how much he has recorded for it now, but when I last talked to him in April I got the impression it was maybe halfway finished. He said it was going to be poppier than TWSV and that he's using live drums and "more adventurous instrumentation/arrangements," so that would explain the extra time it's taking. Please do keep that on the down-low though, I'm hoping it'll take a lot of people by surprise when he officially announces it.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't know. I'm honestly quite surprised at the amount of people out there who really had no idea they broke up. Suppose I'm lucky for not discovering them until a few months after they disbanded, that breakup would have killed me.... hopefully someday they'll reform, but judging from the harshly negative view Kurt has on all his DG songs nowadays I'm not sure how likely that will be (although Christoph seemed to remain pretty positive about the DG when I was emailing him, not sure about Anton). And sorry about Computer Savvy, too! The one I'm holding was actually a gift from Dan so I've had it for a little over a year, but back in October he put a big stack of copies he still had lying around up for sale and they sold out within a few hours, so I think a lot of people missed out, sadly. And haha, no, I don't have Machinarium, but that vinyl sounds sick! I'm always up for some jazz so I'll have to check that out, thanks.

Ah, well, I don't actually like '80s Genesis very much. :P They were essentially a different band in the early '70s, with Peter Gabriel as their lead singer/flute-player/wearer-of-stupid-costumes. And Phil Collins as the drummer. Eno is super-duper but again, his '70s glam-rock stuff is far superior to his ambient stuff later on. I knew he did the soundtrack to Spore, and I haven't listened to it. But I agree with your mum's sentiment, he does get rather dreary by the mid-'80s or so. His work with Talking Heads is excellent, though. Talking Heads are new-wave, right? LOVE Talking Heads. I'm scanning down your "most played" list and see two artists I've heard of: The Chemical Brothers (whose work I've heard none of) and The Prodigy (who are a whole lotta fun, though I've never seen fit to actually *buy* anything of theirs). WOO!

yes, I played Fahrenheit, for some reason, I always thought it'd be a FPS, figured out that I was wrong last year - what an amazing game! and yes, I was surprised to find martina in there. heard the song "anything" on a website I think, couple of years ago. totally forgot about her until I played Fahrenheit. - the next game I'm hoping to play (also because of the music) would be Omikron - david bowie's voice fits perfectly to the overall futuristic atmosphere!

heh, thanks! if it helps, I lived in new york for a couple of months. played dreamweb with friends back when it was released. was a adventure and cyberpunk junkie (beneath a steel sky, flashback, etc.) back then. and dreamweb had this incredible atmosphere especially due to the soundtrack! I'd love to play the game again, but have to figure out how to make it work on my mac. the soundtrack itself is very dark and minimalistic, kinda like darwinia, I like that!

Well, it seems to be a well run and honest website with tons of scope for things in the future. I just renewed my subscription (£18 a year). It also lets me spy on anybody that visits my profile... As for any of my music, I'm the only listener! :(

I ACCEPT your FRIEND REQUEST. Ah, one of your top plays is The Chemical Brothers' 'The Sunshine Underground'. That was the song that introduced me to electronic music... thanks for reminding me of that one.

i was talking to someone on AIM about medleys, and how there were so few good ones on vgmusic. then he pointed out one of Dr. F's, so i was telling him how i knew him and that Scissors was my favourite track of his (which i linked). i don't listen to his music often at all, it has to be said. that particular track is great though.

I've no clue on who actually did what (which is never really clear when it comes to Kirby music in general, actually); I just simply tagged my Canvas Curse songs with "Jun Ishikawa, Tadashi Ikegami" in the artist field. But yeah, Ishikawa collaborated with Ikegami, so we know it wasn't a solo effort.
